TDF | Officer Handbook

Handbook

This is a handbook destined to instructing TDF officers after graduating from the Officer Academy. Please make sure to read every topic. By using our servers and participating in our groups you agree with these guidelines and understand that they are subject to change at any moment.

If you still haven’t read TDF | The Duskan Front: Handbook, I recommend you do it.

Duties

The imperial laws and guidelines are to be followed at all times.

  • Officers must act with maturity and formality while respecting your superiors, colleagues and subordinates.
  • Every officer will be assigned with a monthly quota of events, which they must thoroughly follow. -
  • They should be capable of assisting lower ranks and following superior orders carefully.

Rank Structure

  • General
Generals of The Duskan Front are the administrators and strategists of the military and are accomplished leaders. They are sworn in by a vote through the recommendation of a Viceroy or Directorate member.

  • Colonel
Colonels are often tasked with any duties that a General would wish to execute, and they are then obligated to perform their duties to the full extent of their power without any interception from the high political system. They are handpicked by the Generals, and can only progress to the rank if they have been an existing Field Officer.

  • Captain
Captains are usually the commanders of divisions and sub-units within the Empire. They are selected by the High Command and may have special privileges granted by the Directorate. To become a Captain, one must be in good terms with their superiors and show exemplar activity and maturity to become a leader.

  • Field Officer
These units are tasked with teaching lower ranks how to perform in and out of the field, how to prepare for fighting on both foreign and domestic lands, and how to act in general. They can be appointed by a consensus between a Colonel and a General that agree to take full responsibility for the actions that a Field Officer makes.

  • Lieutenant
Experienced in teaching soldiers, and are required to host trainings to further excel fellow soldier’s careers.

  • Ensign
Through their experience as a low and middle rank, they have mastered the ability to efficiently train soldiers and are officially authorized to do so.

Promotion

Every promotion must be recommended by a higher officer who agrees to take responsibility for the former’s actions. The rank of General is only achievable through direct recommendation and vote of the Directorate.

Handing out Merit

When hosting an event, you are able to hand out Merit points to the attendees, depending on their performance. To do so, follow the steps below:

1) Manually

If you hosted an event somewhere not linked to our group, you will need to manually assign merit through discord.

  1. Get the usernames of those you want to reward
  2. In the Discord communications server go to the channel #merit-log
  3. Choose one of the commands below based on how many people you are giving merit to:
Amount of people Command
Only 1 person ?merit <username> add <amount>
More than 1 person (*) ?merit bulk add <amount> <username1>, <username2>, <etc>

(*) They will receive the same amount of Merit.

  1. Send the command on the channel!
  2. That’s it!
  3. If you awarded the wrong quantity of points, you may use the same commands to remove a certain <amount> of Merit, by changing <add> to <remove>.

2) Using our in-game service

If the event happened in one of our places, you can use the leaderboard to assign Merit.

  1. Use the command :add <target> merit <amount>

The argument <target> may be used in the following ways:

Argument Type Format
All all
Team %TeamName
Multiple users username1,username2,...
Single user username
  1. If this worked, the merit will appear on the leaderboard.

  2. If you awarded the wrong quantity of points, you may use the same commands to remove a certain <amount> of Merit, by changing <add> to <remove>.

  3. Say :submitmerit to send merit to be processed by ClanLabs.
Be careful! This can only be done once per server. Make sure to do this only at the end of your event.

Not sure how much Merit to give?

Merit should be awarded to every attendee. This table should be followed by you when giving points.

Event type Merit
Tryout 0
Patrol 5
Training 7
Mandatory Events 7
Defense Training 8
Practice Raid 8
Raid 10

As an addition, it is possible to give up to 4 extra merit to those who do exceptionally well on events. Note: this must be justified and approved by a higher rank.
