Yes, I’ve had that before too. Sometimes the process/thread which is growing/sculpting will not die even though your UI focus is already onto another tool entirely. There are also cases where the tools won’t let you deselect them. I am guessing that the new Studio UI beta where it seems like the whole system will be refined and upgraded is where this kind of thing will be fixed.
What steps did you make this happen? I solved a similar issue around half a year ago and I can’t seem to reproduce this issue on my end.
I can’t reproduce it myself, but it happened a couple times just using the sculpt tool, and using ctrl to swap between add and subtract. These spheres would just appear in random places
Any word on increasing the speed of sculpting? It is so slow for me that I can barely do anything to my terrain (which you can also see on those gifs). I think this might be a bug too
Edit: Found another bug. Using the paint tool, holding B to change brush size and then scrolling or moving the mouse, the brush size didn’t change from the size it was at, it instead reset to 16 and then starting resizing from there.
Cool, will take a look at that, the second issue I already have a fix in for, it will be turned on soonish.
I’ll take a look at the speed, though I’ve already adjusted this multiple times, since users either view it as too fast, or too slow. It depends on PC performance and though I already take that somewhat into account, more might be necessary.
Glad to hear about the fix.
If people complain about it being too fast, they can just turn it down. There are 100 sensitivity options and I only ever use it at max because everything is so slow. Max feels like what 25% should be, and I have a strong CPU. I need a fast speed for editing very large areas
I have another suggestion, it would be nice to have hotkeys to swap between tools, for example P to select the paint tool.
Edit: I found another bug, sometimes the paint tool just stops working. This has happened to me several times now and it seems to occur after using alt to pick a material, I can’t reproduce it consistently though.
I did find a bug I can reproduce consistently: if you are sculpting something, and then tab out, the process will continue and there’s no way to stop it unless you close studio.
Exactly, why have the default speed so slow if you’re going to include the ability to make it EVEN slower.
I found a bit of strange behaviour with the new shorelines and the paint tool.
Here is how the river looks like before painting it:
And this is what it looks like after I paint it:
As you can see, it is shrinking my river quite a bit, so I’m unable to edit the material around my river.
Please fix flatten tool, when will we be getting the new base studio materials in terrain
You have to use the add tool, use top pivot and water material and you should be able to fill in the gap. So silly that the tools literally work worse than they did before this update, please revert!
