As a roblox developer, it is currently too hard to create large, specific terrains. The terrain generation feature is great, but to be honest, it would be much more effective to use heightmaps. This allows for precision terrain creation, and because of the nature of it, it would be impossible to make anything inappropriate for roblox with this technology (aside from 2D text which is possible anyways.) This would allow developers like me to accelerate game development drastically and encourage use of terrain because of its simplicity and ease of use. Not only this, but the door would be opened to external editing applications such as L3DT and other terrain creators, supercharging productivity in games.
It’s not a height map but imo a 3D model would be easier to tweak than a height map
