this was my initial concern reading the articles. my biggest worry is developers being cut off from direct feedback from potential suggestions or bug reports unless developers go out of their way to create some kind of workaround system for this purpose.

yes, the messages just wont show up at all.
my hope is they weigh this more into matchmaking, so 16+ users get grouped together more often so the servers arent as dead. you can actually do this already with custom matchmaking, which probably tells me they had this in mind from the get go:
So basically the only option is to just have the friend as a trusted connection. Which that means they will be forced to verify via id/selfie, give me their phone number or meet eachother irl to do some qr code bullshit [mind you we live in separate countries]
I donât want to pressure my friend into doing that kind of stuff. It just isnât right

About the last part, I believe once this fully rolls out, the part where this system will ruin the platform might actually become true. And if it does, how would Roblox react? what would Roblox do? Will they just pull the classic âit is what it isâ? Do we just have to adapt?

But wait, it gets worse!
Currently, youâre allowed to link to a few specific websites in-game, as long as you use PolicyService to block ineligible users from seeing the links. Roblox just announced that theyâre completely killing that. Great.
At least YouTube should still be allowed, come on.

a qr code is just a bunch of data, you can forward it online you donât need to be physically present. i think the unfortunate thing with this is the only way to add trusted connections is you need to do it off-platform which is.. weird. defeats the point a bit, people are incentivized to go off platform.
i think this is a response to the legal pressure they keep getting put under, by doing this no one can say roblox is truly negligent and they have 0 liability for anything that happens afterwards. there are 30+ victim lawsuits, 3 state lawsuits, 1 state investigation, and potentially hundreds of other victims that might not have been victimized had this system existed in the first place, which obviously does not look good in front of a jury.
on the positive side, you can argue this system might actually be good if age is factored into matchmaking more heavily. verified 18 year olds playing solely with other verified 18 year olds is positive for engagement not negative, and that goes for basically every age group.
Is there any way to revert update without they doing it? Because i donât think so?

i have a idea i think could be bit better then taking the chat away you know how they use to have just few words / sentences players had to use for the chat they could add something like that for under 13 users and all of the people that havenât verified there age maybe

Genuinely i am so sorry i sound like a crybaby. But again, I donât want to have to verify my age to do everything.
To be frank, i already verified because i was afraid of what would have happened if i didnât so i just. felt pressured to do it because i am not really patient enough to see what happens when the feature is actually implimented
But i am more worried for my friends who im sure they dont want to give their face/id just to do basic stuff like chat or collaborate with people. I dont want to lose them. [tbf i and my friends have eachother added on discord so we can still talk. but still it still doesnât feel right. i donât want them to be forced to give out their id/face to an ai that god knows what it can do just so we can chat with eachother in a game]

I am not 100% certain but I am pretty sure this is a sitewide global policy update. It doesnât go by region, all users will be affected by this (at least for now).
That part is clear, but I feel like at least some countries would not want roblox to exist under those conditions
So basically. What do i do in this situation? I REALLY dont want to have to force my friends to give out their id/face just so we can talk to eachother. Theyâd hate me if i were to force them into doing so lmao
