Testing player sword and shield system

So the red outlines on them mean that I can attack them (in attacking range and in front of me). I think the system is too simple, and needs work to add like multiple moves or something. I know that the shield system might need a rework, but I mean like the weapon mechanics.

The way it works now is that when an enemy gets in range of my sword, they are highlighted by the red outline. When I left click, my character plays a random animation based on whether my shield is up or not, then damages whoever is highlighted red.
