In all Roblox experiences with voice chat enabled, the Roblox Voice Chat overlay is visible on top of the character even if EnableDefaultVoice is disabled in VoiceChatService, causing a clunky user experience.
In our experience SCP: Roleplay, we use EnableDefaultVoice to disable voice chat for specific places, as is suggested in the documentation. However, the overlay remains active, which is an even bigger problem in our experience as it relies on a custom camera system to enhance the player experience. Not only, it also hides game critical information to the player in situations such as combat by taking up space in the screen.
The overlay should not be visible in these places where EnableDefaultVoice is disabled.
Any word or status on this? I find myself having my cursor blocked out by this voice chat bubble every time I play since our experience uses a custom camera system.
To be honest… the icon seems to have an always on top feature we have no control over, so it can actually block chat bubbles, ui, etc.
We should be provided with more customisation to better configure the microphone icon & camera icon above your head. Perhaps the Y position, transparency, colour, always on top, etc.
Although not a big thing, albeit, this would yet greatly improve a annoying issue.
This would be amazing, there‘s currently an issue where you can interact with the voice and camera button while in a different GUI which still shows above the chat bubble.
