Thoughts on my Ultra Realistic Bösendorfer Model 290 Imperial Concert Grand Piano

Before reading this, please keep in mind that this model is not meant to be used as an in-game asset, it is meant to test the limits of Roblox. To all of you people, I apologize for the misunderstanding.

So a few days ago I decided to work on something for fun out of boredom, and I decided to challenge myself to an ultra-detailed model of a Bösendorfer Model 290 Imperial Concert Grand Piano, which is also considered to be a high-end piano.
However, the Bösendorfer Model 290 is also known for having an extra 9 keys at the bottom. It also has a warm and powerful tone!

Apart from being a 3D modeler, I am also a professional pianist, so I decided to sort of “put the two arts together” and create a stupidly realistic grand piano on Roblox with every part in-tact, and a model consisting of less than 200 parts.
3 days ago I said: “CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!”

And 3 days later, I was left with this:

Some may have wondered what the piano would look like without the Sheet Holder, so I made a small update and removed the Sheet Holder from the second piano.

Here is the link to the place where everyone can take a better look at the piano:

Let me know what you guys think!

Thank you all so much for your support, it means a lot to me! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

1 million tris??? Wow. I wouldn’t like to be playing a game with a good few of those pianos in it lol.

The funny part is, this piano emits absolutely 0 lag!

It may be possible to cut down the tris drastically with efficient modelling.

Whilst the piano may not emit lag for some players, it could for others on low-end devices and it’s always good to slowly cut down the tri-count of a model where possible.

I have a feeling my PC would disagree with that lol.

Then in this case, I am inviting you to test out the model for yourself.

The lag isn’t actually as bad as I thought it would be, but I’m still only getting <25 fps lol.

Okay, well I appreciate the feedback and will be looking forward to improving the model in the near future. Thank you for your support!

You truly captured the beauty of such a magnificent instrument. While I don’t know much of modeling I can just give you my opinion & I truly love what I see, well done!

Thank you, I hope to release some more content similar to this in the future!

Dude, that is insane. Only for a challenge wow :+1:

OH MY GOD. Well done! Only thing I’d say is use SurfaceAppearance on stuff like keys to push realism even further.

Sure, no problemo! I can definitely try out a few textures here and there.

It looks absolutely amazing, I tried playing the game and when I look at these two pianos I get 50 fps on max graphics so I think it’s fine

Thank you! Really glad that it performed well.

Looks absolutely amazing :open_mouth: Keep up the great work :+1:
