Thumbnail video randomly pauses

Reproduction Steps
Play a thumbnail video, then click to the right of the video. (ex: like button)
(I’m not affiliated with that game, it was just a convenient example)

It doesn’t seem to happen every time.
It’s either caused by

  • clicking outside the video
  • scrolling
  • scrolling after clicking outside the video
  • clicking in the blank space under the game title and above the game play button

Expected Behavior
I expect the video to play without interruption.

Actual Behavior
Thumbnail videos seem to randomly pause after you hit play.

Might be similar to this previously resolved bug: Game video thumbnail fades to picture when video's playing

Workaround
unpause the video every time it pauses

Hi, thanks for the report! I am unable to reproduce this on my side, does it still happens on yours?

It doesn’t happen every time, but it happens every 1 in 4 times or so.

It’s probably not caused by a chrome plugin either. Here’s it occurring in incognito mode:
