Tide Rush 2: Map Testing - v1.8

kinda skipped this one cus i forgor to update to v1.8 before v1.9 came out

Tide Rush 2 - v1.8 - Autumn 2023

Maps:

  • Added support for new map formats (FE2 V57, very buggy however)

Fixes:

  • Fixed a bug causing wins to not be saved properly
  • Fixed a bug preventing win achievements from being rewarded

Editors notes:

  • #1: this is just cus i wanted to add more canoncial ads, but the current system could only do one container at a time, and every ad had to be hardcoded
  • #2: this rewordes notifications to resemble those in fe2, for hardcore players, or those who hate my way of typing (sorry <3)
  • general: i had so much planned for this update, it was going to be a big expansion to v1.7 but i simply didnt have time. ill probably write more about this in the community server if you are interested in reading
Tide Rush 2 - v1.7a

Additions:

  • Idle swim animation now loads properly
  • You must now play 2 maps of one difficulty to progress to the next difficulty

  • You can now only spectate players who are in-game

  • HDG WarpFix has been upgraded to Gen 2
  • Reduced initial join loading time

Fixes:

  • Fixed sliding being inconsistent
  • Fixed many slide beams in Treacherous Cargo Harbors being too low

Editors notes:

  • a lot of notes this time, sorry!
  • #1: this allows users to pay comets and lock the lift to a high difficulty (hardcore-champion) for 3 rounds
  • #2: this picks maps based on how many people survived the last round. if only 2 of 10 people survived, the difficulty decreases, but if 8 of 10 people survive, the difficulty increases
  • #3: these let you customize almost every aspect of the game. custom lobby music? map voting? force map events? we got it, and a lot more!
  • #4: this shows rewards gained from each map, what your streak was, and how long it took to complete the map
  • #5: as of typing this, theres currently an issue causing keybinds to not save properly. this is preventing the game from being able to read your data properly and as a result, will lock up on step 7 (now step 6 in 1.7) of the loading process
  • #6: ranging from map sfx, to button guides, to even champion announcements
  • #7: while tr2 has supported lighting fx long before fe2, those effects were always under the lighting folder. fe2 uses another folder under lighting called “Effects”, which tr2 previously did not recognize
  • #8: tldr if you use game.ReplicatedStorage.Remote.Notify for notifications, you dont need to change anything for it to work in tr2
  • #9: i did an actual npesta reaction when i got this
