DIFFICULTY CHANGES
Currently, the game is too easy and you can win impossible without infinite upgrades, so we’ve decided to increase difficulties but DOUBLE infinite upgrades so they actually matter

DEVELOPER NOTE
One of the issues with Toy Defenders is that the game is too easy for veteran players. To low level players, impossible seems to be well… impossible, while to veteran players impossible is very easy and not that much of a challenge. Heroic was meant to be the late game for these veteran players, however due to how it was handled it led to some unrest in the player-base. Low level players would see the cool Heroic skins and attempt to do them only to be unable to defeat the first enemy spawned. In the future, we want to try making harder content for veteran players while not upsetting low level players, like level locking this content.

DEVELOPER NOTE
Parky told people that Heroic would be nerfed this update, but after extensive testing we decided it was unneeded to nerf Heroic. Even after these changes Heroic and Super Heroic were very possible to beat. One of the issues with Toy Defenders is that it can be a bit easy so we aren’t going to nerf Heroic for the time being.

ATTENTION!
Next update is going to be the long waited SEASON 2 update! Leaderboards will be reset and players on leaderboards will get an exclusive skin! Along with this update comes a change directed towards the new player experience; to prevent new players from being overwhelmed by our mountain of content, toys now will be required to be unlocked before you can start buying them in the shop. Some of the toys will remain free, and the rest will be unlocked through maps, achievements, and levels. If you have a Rank 5 of a toy when this update happens, that toy will automatically be unlocked for you. YOU WILL NOT LOSE ANY TOYS YOU HAVE, THIS IS ONLY FOR BEING ABLE TO BUY TOYS IN THE SHOP.

Go to the castle and participate in one of three new gamemodes! Earn rewards and Winter Tickets when you win on harder difficulties! Use your Winter Tickets in the shop under the ‘Event’ tab to purchase toys, modifiers, items, and over 20 new skins!

Toy Factory
Compete as a team against another team of players to defeat waves and build toys to defeat your enemies! Pick up parts from defeated enemies and take them to the end of the path to start building toys!

Toy Rush
You thought Boss Rush was hard? Well in this gamemode a random toy will spawn every wave giving a holiday themed challenge!

Present Mayhem
The enemies are carrying presents! Killing them will make them drop. Touching a present will make it explode into a random good or bad effect. Stack four of these modifiers on each other for ultimate chaos!

SOCIAL CHANGES

  • Max server size is now 50 instead of 35
  • Private servers now cost 10 robux due to concerns with having players to play with

IMPROVEMENTS

  • All the towers have reduced impact on lag!
  • New setting to turn off big effects (wrenches, rats, webs, etc.)
  • Skip vote comes up a lot faster (Auto Skip modifier reward improved because of this)
  • Towers without owners now increase the difficulty scale by 0.1 (times base difficulty) to stop alt abusing
  • Damage scoring is no longer damage x2, it is now just the damage
  • Enemies no longer give damage scoring after being alive for 5+ minute
  • Towers that buff other towers now increase their score when the towers they buffed do basic attacks

zKevin has been too strong in early pvp and endless, both because of his 4th upgrade, he will now be less strong early but be EVEN BETTER at his 5th upgrade, while also toning down his infinite upgrade

This Boy Guest nerf is big so I wanted to explain the reasoning behind why we’re gutting a $100 tower. We’ve observed that Boy Guest can be easily abused to the point that having 7+ of them can beat impossible with no ranks, so we’re toning his whole kit down

Just a friendly reminder that the Halloween Event will be ending in two days on 11/8/2020 at 12am EST!

PVP!

  • Battle against other players in the new Battle Royale game mode! Avoid being eliminated by having the highest score to win tickets and Match Making Rating (MMR). The top 10 highest MMR players will appear on a leaderboard in a lobby and receive awards when season 1 ends!
