UI Tools: The All-In-One Interface Design Solution

Hey, everyone!

I want to announce some exciting stuff that will come out in the next update. I can’t promise when, though, lol.

But let’s talk about the present first. I want to show off the new plugin icon, which looks surprisingly well, even though it’s made by me, who sucks in this area of digital design.

Prepare your eyes to see the magnificent artwork of mine!!!

Seriously, though, I really like how it looks in the Creator Marketplace and the plugin homepage.

Here, it looks even better:

That new icon aside, the next update will include approximately 100K images from 3 icon packs. I don’t know the exact number of unique icons, but it’s about 100,000 / 7, where 7 is the number of size options.

So it’s about 14K icons of different styles - regular and filled for Fluent Icons and regular, sharp, round for Material Icons. I haven’t touched Material Symbols, so I’m unsure about them yet.

Have all of the icons gone through Pixelfix?! YEZZIR :sunglasses:

They are sourced from Microsoft’s Fluent Icons and Google’s Material Icons & Symbols libraries. I’m still in the process of uploading them, but I can say that I’m already about 50% done.

There’s the problem of moderated images, which I’m still not sure how to address. If you have an idea, I’ll happily listen.

The other part of this update will include a library of small scripts, mainly focused on scaling issues. I currently have solutions for 2 of them, which I’m using myself to scale scrollbars and fix the padding gaps that appear when using grid and list layouts by changing the canvas size.

Here’s what the padding issue looks like:

When fixed:

That’s about it - I want to focus on new features in this update and improve/redesign the existing ones sometime later.

P.S:
I forgot to mention, but once I build a new computer, I’ll be able to capture my screen at a high framerate and edit videos without torturing the hell out of my PC.

Without a voiceover, unfortunately. I still have to buy proper peripherals.

While I do enjoy the new tools in the update, I can’t help but prefer the old layout you had

The old layout was much convenient for quickly setting ui properties rather than the current where it’s more for finer details

edit: found the open sourced version
thank you

Hi, i hope i can modify “Position” and “Size” (the most 2 important properties) in the plugin.

If i can specify which property display in the plugin is the BEST (eg: Position, Size, Transparency)

Can we get a setting to keep the position of the UI element when changing the anchor?

Zili, we can have the old version? i like the old more

Here it is UI Tools: The All-In-One Interface Design Solution - #14 by zilibobi

Why the two most important attributes:“Position” AND “Size” not appear in “Properties” I Hope the two attributes can sync from studio to plugin to watch and edit from your plugin to fast apply chage

Hey everyone. After a long delay, update v2.2 is now released. It introduces 3 icon packs, 2 new settings, and some improvements to the tools.

Icons

Icon packs included:

  • Fluent Icons, made by Microsoft - MIT license;
  • Material Icons, made by Google - Apache License 2.0;
  • Material Symbols, made by Google - Apache License 2.0.

Copies of both licenses:

Settings

  • “Visualize relevancy in icon search”
    image

  • “Setting anchor doesn’t update position” - suggested in #86.

Extra

  • Updated the anchor editor. The mode you last used is restored on re-launch.

  • The latest API dump is now fetched from https://setup.rbxcdn.com - a domain owned by Roblox.

P.S.

Some icon images may be moderated by Roblox. It’s natural when you are uploading thousands of images. Get the icon from the repository it has been taken from or contact me and I will send you the file.

I have background blur enabled. That’s why the screenshots look so good.

The future

I do not want to maintain this plugin anymore. The code base is old and messy. I don’t have time and passion to rewrite everything for the third time. I also recently switched to Linux, which makes Roblox development, especially plugin development, harder as there is no official Linux support for Roblox Studio and Roblox.

W update, is this the last update? I wanna see what you can do now with this plugin.

Most likely, that’s the case.

I don’t have any examples to showcase what you can do with this plugin. My preferred way of creating UI is through Fusion and code, so I don’t use the plugin so often.

I use the UIScale component for scaling.

P.S.
I’m not sure if I want to work on monetized resources anymore, but I have some modules I’d like to open-source, so you might see in this category soon. I’m currently working on a game, so maybe not so soon.

I see, I need just something: a setting for auto open the plugin on launch. I just want this and this plugin will be perfect, I don’t know why 0 plugins do this but it should be usefull!

oh and I saw a bug by the way,

Thanks for pointing that out. I’ll release a fix with a setting to open the main widget on startup tomorrow.

thank you, thanks for this plugin, you helped me a lot. If you have anything for donations, I could give sometime something for this incredible creation.

A summary of the most recent release 5517d3:

  • Fixed 2 UI bugs;
  • Added a setting for forcefully enabling the main widget on launch.

It’s all good. It’s enough that my creation has helped you in some way.

Hey there, update’s pretty good! However it seems that I can’t search filter Fluent icons or Material symbols, only Material icons, nothing popping up in the output either, it just, doesn’t let me type or erase the text in the search bar…

Hi, this was indeed an issue before the most recent build 5517d3. Are you sure you’re using the latest version (build) of the plugin?

Ah, weird, doesn’t seem like it notified me about the update, thanks for the quick response!

No problem! The reason there was no update notification is that I didn’t update the version asset (it’s a manual process). I just created a text notification about this bug, the notification will disappear for all users in 14 days or quicker if you dismiss it.
