Understanding Roblox's MIDR Process

I am trying to understand Roblox’s MIDR Process and have a couple of questions. I initially had some questions, for which I am still waiting for a response, but that was on April 5.

Here is a segment from it:

To notify Roblox, you must send written notice to Roblox Corporation, Legal Department, 3150 S. Delaware St., San Mateo, CA 94403 by certified U.S. Mail or by Federal Express (or international equivalent), providing: (a) the User’s full name, Roblox username, and any email or billing address associated with the User’s Roblox Account; (b) the name and contact information of the User’s counsel, if User is represented by counsel; (c) a brief description of the User’s Dispute and the resolution requested; and (d) the ticket or case number provided by Roblox Support to track previous attempts to resolve the Dispute, if there is one.

  • Although it states “brief” in Section 11, what do you believe would be the maximum on how the User’s Dispute is written?
  • I have multiple ticket numbers that not only show the inconsistency of the appeals, but also every other ticket being redirected for even mentioning keywords present. Should I include every single ticket number from this appeal period?
  • I was terminated back in October 2025, but was later unbanned, despite appeals rejecting me the entire time. Should this be mentioned? Should I also give the ticket numbers that prove I was unbanned?
  • It is clear that it happens within the 60 days, but if you have sent an MIDR before, how long did it take for you?
  • What happens if there is already a resolution, as in being unterminated, after I have already sent the letter?

Roblox has failed to give me proper support within my appeal window, which includes inaccurate appeal responses and neglected inquiries for form redirection. I think I am just overthinking how this process should go, but I want to make sure I have as much information as possible before I do so.

If you’re curious about my situation, I have been documenting everything within the forum, along with feedback.
Roblox Improving Their Support (General, Enforcement Bans)

Hey sammy, since you’ve been following my thread, you already know how wild the automated support loop is right now. Here are my thoughts on your MIDR questions based on dealing with their legal and corporate escalations:

The “brief” description: The legal team usually just wants the actual cover letter to be one page and straight to the point (who you are, what happened, the exact resolution you want). However, you can and absolutely should attach a longer, detailed evidence document behind that cover page.

Ticket numbers: Definitely include all of them. It proves the support system is just bouncing you around and auto-rejecting you without a proper human review.

Past terminations: I would 100% mention the October 2025 termination and rollback. It establishes a documented pattern that their moderation AI makes false-positive mistakes on your specific account.

What if it’s resolved after sending? If you get unbanned after mailing the letter, their legal team will just mark the dispute as resolved. There’s no negative consequence to sending it.

One big tip: Before you deal with the hassle and cost of sending physical certified mail to California, I highly recommend filing a formal complaint through the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website first. It’s a free, digital mediation route that goes straight to their corporate team and forces a real human to review your tickets instead of a bot.

Good luck getting this sorted out!

Is the BBB reliable for consistent assistance with situations like this? I was looking into it and saw a ton of unanswered complaints.

About the rest of what you said, thanks. I haven’t been writing it so far because this is too stressful for me right now. Sorry if I didn’t say anything meaningful with this reply; there is just so much going on.

Roblox hasn’t answered to a BBB complaint since 2024. They left the site years ago. Your complaint won’t be reviewed.

It will take 30-80 days.

Thank you for your reply about the BBB and the MIDR period. I think the only step I really need to take is to make sure I get the certified mail card. I should be able to use any envelope. Thanks again!

@GaelPaws That information is factually incorrect. Roblox is absolutely still responding to BBB complaints in 2026. While they are “Not Accredited” (which simply means they don’t pay the BBB’s yearly fee for the badge), their corporate team actively monitors and resolves escalations there.

@sammikyu I literally reviewed their public BBB logs yesterday for my own case. There are multiple documented, resolved cases from late 2025 and early 2026 where users had their accounts completely restored and funds refunded after standard support bots failed them.

The reason you see so many “unanswered” complaints is because 95% of them are young players submitting two-sentence complaints like “I got banned for swearing, give my account back” with zero evidence. When a developer submits a highly documented, professional case (like yours), it actually gets routed to their compliance team.

Since filing a BBB complaint is 100% free, completely digital, and takes about 10 minutes, there is absolutely zero harm in submitting it while you prepare your physical MIDR mail. Don’t let the raw stats stress you out—use every free tool available to you! You’ve got this.

You can sort BBB complaints if they got a response from the business. Roblox hasn’t replied to a complaint since 2024.

Users are able to mark their complaint as solved without a business response. I sorted by resolved and it’s users explaining that their issue was resolved through regular support. They never got a response through BBB.

I forgot to ask one more thing: how much did it cost for you to send it?

You can send one using https://www.onlinecertifiedmail.com/

I believe its around 10 bucks?

Does it matter even though I have to send a handwritten letter?

ignore whatever I said because I thought it had to be a written notice

different question: is that what you sent from?

They send a handwritten letter to the address
