Summary
The acronym “SYBAU” which has swearing in it is not filtered in the chat. As a result, many players are abusing this by constantly using it in a game. There are repeated instances of this. For clarity, the acronym stands for “shut your [b-word] [a-word] up”
Expected Results
This acronym should be filtered and censored in the chat as it is vulgar language and disrespect.
^ Additional filter bypasses sent in this screenshot where users insert one or more symbols in between each letter, another common and repeatedly used filter bypass method.
I’m uncertain how this can be considered as a bug under the Engine category. However, if you believe that this word should be filtered, it is very likely that Roblox engineers would ask you to make a submission using this form:
Thanks, I didn’t know about this. I was previously using bug reports to report filter issues with game development related issues such as the toolbox, game name/description, and website game search.
I understand your perspective, no worries! Previously, this form was primarily used to report and showcase which words should/shouldn’t be filtered while chitchatting through Roblox TextChatService. Since this problem “spread”, they reworked the form and made it more accessible by adding the guides about bug reports. That said, if you have an asset that you published, available on Creator Store, but got unexpectedly filtered, you can use the mentioned form on my previous and state that it should have been whitelisted.
Spoiler: they don’t. And making a bug report for these kinds of issues is actually permitted (unless Hooksmith’s response only applies to the filter incorrectly tagging phrases rather than not tagging them at all—maybe he can clarify):
