Universe Place Ownership

As a Roblox developer, it is painful to make a unique universe place for the player, especially when it’s user generated.

Usually the developer will get punished instead of the player who made something inappropriate.

What if the player was responsible for what he does? Creator could assign a Universal Place Owner role to him.

Universal Place Owner takes responsibility for the user generated content that has been saved.
The “basis” template version of the place will be checked as well, because we don’t want devs to ban innocent accounts.
Dev can’t just edit a place and get away with it - he will be the one to get punished.

It will prevent banning innocent devs and encourage mod team to punish in-game abusers.

This won’t necessarily work. I might maintain a list of people I dislike in my game, and make inappropriate content in their assigned places. Now they get punished for something they didn’t do. If Roblox is banning game creators for UGC, this is an issue of moderation needing to do a more thorough job investigating rather than a need for a feature.

But I literally mentioned it in this post.

The “basis” version of the place will be checked as well, because we don’t want devs to ban innocent accounts.

Yeah, but what I mean it will basically make moderation easier.

I can have a completely empty base version of the place, use a feature to impersonate the user, and then make inappropriate content in their place. Roblox will be unable to tell if I made it or they made it, and if I remove the impersonate feature afterwards, it’ll all point to the innocent user.

Unfortunately, there are no shortcuts for moderation.

I think there could be a check if it’s saved by user or by dev.

Unless it’s scripted by dev, then it would leave a trace.
