Unknown FastFlag has been toggled, changing slope/wedge physics and breaking a significant amount of obbies

note: Will update this post’s description if someone is able to identify the specific FastFlag that’s been changed causing this.

Approximately half an hour ago as of the time of making this post, the physics engine was changed, altering the way slope/wedge physics work. Previously, instead of the player gaining a small boost when walking off a slope, there is no boost. This is a tech used in many obbies, which are now impossible. A video is attached below demonstrating the issue.

Negative side effects of this change:

  • Many obbies utilise mechanics that use the small boost gained off of walking off a wedge to gain height. this is now impossible
  • Many “Walkaround” obstacles (walking around a block, with a roof above your head, removing your jump ability) are now impossible without utilising extremely advanced tech

Expected behavior

Before this change happened, as demonstrated in the above video, when walking off an upwards-tilting slope or wedge, the player would receive a small boost in height. This enables them to reach slightly higher platforms than would otherwise be possible.

i can see why someone would change this as it looks more accurate
but a whole genre of obbies that uses rotated parts and slants is impossible now
if roblox intends on keeping this somehow it would be a good idea if it was some kind of toggleable setting like beta features

Being able to toggle this in Workspace, similar to how Roblox added a toggle for PhysicsSteppingMethod, would be a good solution to this. However, if they were to choose this line of action, it would be important to ensure that the default option for already existing places is the older slope physics version, and to have it be opt-in for a short time.

I have reverted a flag that might be related. Can you confirm if you are still seeing the undesirable behavior?
