Upcoming Changes to Avatar Catalog Upload Requirements

the price isnt yet defined so we cant really assume it as a big value ( 100 rbx )

i am positive it would not be under that price if they wanted to reduce ā€œspamā€

Sorry if Iā€™m blind, but where do they mention the 100 robux per asset cost?
I see everyone discussing it, but I donā€™t see any mention of it in the OP.

i believe he was just stating an example of how dumb the process would be. it isnā€™t an official price

They didnā€™t, however, people are assuming thatā€™s the price because when this feature was accidentally implemented yesterday, the fee was 100 Robux.

This change is not that bad. The lowest premium subscription that was available was for $4.99 which is more then a measly 100 robux. If you think 100 robux is too much, how will you devex with money in the future? You need to buy premium. This change will greatly reduce bots, as well as boosting the current sales to clothes since no bots mean an easier way to find quality clothes. If you choose to start a small career on Roblox, youā€™re going to need to pay at some point.

To those of you asking about my assumption of the 100 ROBUX price:

This feature was accidentally enabled yesterday and the base price was 100 ROBUX.

This is overall shameful and unfair. Roblox is a platform based off of its ability for users to create and play for free. This is moving away from those values and moving towards a different future of Roblox, one that isnā€™t the one we know or are used to. Many of the designers on the platform are not willing to spend money just to be able upload a few shirts. Many of these designers might not even make this money back. No one deserves this. Homestores who upload many items at once with the collaboration of many designers will now have this disrupting them and preventing them from doing what they have been doing previously. I do understand throat the main reason of this is to prevent spam and bots, but is it even worth what itā€™s taking away?

I see your point, but you arenā€™t necessarily correct. Clothing designers that consistently upload over five clothing pieces a month are paying over the lowest premium cost.

Basically over all about this topic. Some designers donā€™t even have a platform yet, nor do they have many people purchasing their start up clothing. So how do you expect those, who may not have Robux, to upload and start their designing career.

The minimum amount of ROBUX you can purchase is 400 for $4.99.

If Iā€™m a designer that wants to test the waters and see what ROBLOX is truly liked, then iā€™d be VERY discouraged by the fact that I have to purchase 400 ROBUX for $4.99 only to use 100 ROBUX on one test shirt or pant.

We also need to remember that not everyone is in the same boat as you, some people donā€™t want to buy ROBUX for every 4 items they upload. Iā€™m advocating for other peoplesā€™ opinions and situations here.

This makes sense, 100 ROBUX is a lot for clothing pieces that are 5 or 10 robux. You have to sell at least 20 or 10 pieces of clothing to AT LEAST be even!

Premium players should be able to release clothing without a fee, and ROBLOX should offer this fee option for players without Premium.

Exactly. Itā€™s becoming essentially a pay-to-succeed system.

I am extremely indecisive with this upcoming update. Itā€™s very welcoming to finally upload clothing without the Premium membershipā€¦ And while users with well over enough robux in their budget will barely be affected, it wonā€™t change the fact that those who do not get enough sales will be ā€œleft in the darkā€, regardless of how much the final fee price will cost.
This is simply discouraging those smaller creators who do not get enough sales. Most importantly, this will not stop botted clothing whatsoever as long as their sales keep going up.
If Roblox is supposed to ā€œpower imaginationā€, the I only thing I can say is Iā€™m deeply disappointed.

Continuing on, pay-to-succeed systems are discouraging for small groups and new players. Only large groups with a large amount of funds are able to design clothes now. This is simply unacceptable and change needs to be advocated for.

I donā€™t see how this will help many of the small designer groups and its designers. They will make barely any profit.

Exactly, thank you. I feel like ROBLOX needs to make a different change. For sure, some sort of change should be made but this is not the right option and thing to do.

Why do designers have to pay the price of poor moderation?

They shouldnā€™t, itā€™s simple. The moderators need to improve, and I believe CAPTCHA may help, but I donā€™t personally understand why they are creating fees for moderation issues.

This is a tremendous update! I mean, itā€™s really good! You will no longer need to pay for Roblox Premium in order to create shirts. I understand that some of the premium users think this is really not a great idea. However, for non-premium users, this is really useful. Thanks so much!
