Upcoming Changes to Avatar Catalog Upload Requirements

That list will get longer: people who are contemplating it. The more that leave, the more that want to go because they’ve lost their friends. Who wants to play Roblox games alone?

theres always a friend with premium

I recently started a clothing group, we found investors. All went well for two weeks. But today our corporate team will meet, the possibility that we’ll have to close our group is 99%.

At least I can still create games.

Is there no other way? Because there are already so many copies, it would be hard to clean everything up. Correct me if I’m wrong but, pretty sure there’s a way to check if a shirt-image decal is uploaded twice or if they are extremely similar? I hope that’s possible.

This is a joke! As a small developer, you barely even make robux off of clothes, and to have to pay to upload them is outrageous. Premium in itself wasn’t a cheap price to pay, but this is too much.

Yeah, and then get your group locked like someone on twitter did recently over doing expensive commissions. Over 200k robux down the drain.

Yeah, they do that to not moderate the same asset twice. However, it’s possible the artist uploaded the shirt on its profile to see how it looks, then uploaded it to the group. That’s why they don’t auto reject dupes.

…That wasn’t okay at all.

50 Robux… JUST FOR UPLOADING 2D SHIRT AND PANTS? That’s so absolutely terrible idea. Please, could you MIND listening to these 81 people that replied to you?

So, what? You’re making Premium membership becoming useless. Every Roblox clothe designer prefer uploading shirts with a premium for free, and you’re making it WORST. I feel like this going to be worst for my friend that made a shirt for me. This new change is ABSOLUTELY unneeded for Roblox clothe designer. CHANGE YOUR MIND. I don’t want to agree with this change. :man_facepalming:

Edited: Well… I hope you all Roblox staff are going to be regretted about this new clothe uploading fee. Let’s all blame someone who made an exploit app that let user uploaded the copied shirt they stole from the original creator for free. But… No, you guys should REALLY have to find another solution way to fix this situation way before all clothe designers going to quit if you guys released this. Please, listen to me(not really a clothing designer but I made clothing for my friend to upload on Roblox) and all community including clothing designers.

I guess this is an attempt to stop the automatic uploading of clothes.
I don’t see why it applies to every user.
Why can’t you implement it so that as soon as some algorithm detects suspicious behavior connected with uploading clothes, the account can only upload by paying this fee?
This would undoubtedly stop many bots, but for users who design their t-shirts and may not afford Robux from their funds, this is a hard setback.

Oh boy, isn’t this game ran by a cesspool of middle aged men who love to make money, be completely irrational, and completely throw the community to garbage? I was thinking about making clothes again until this happened.

“Thank you all again for your feedback”… That saying boils my blood and it highly pisses off. This is so exhausting at this point.

What would happen if a piece of clothing wasn’t approved by Roblox? Would there be any refund, or would 50 robux go to waste? There should be some clarification on that.

That’s a moderation mistake, that’s not directly related to this thus irrelevant to this discussion

A moderation mistake that doesn’t really need to happen in the first place, and is related to that excerpt from your post that I quoted.

I feel like this isn’t going to work (especially for small clothing designers) I have 2 ideas on how roblox could do this

Idea 1: roblox could make a daily upload limit an example could be only 3 shirts and pants per day

Idea 2: make it harder to steal clothing it is really easy to steal clothing with the url they could make it a lot harder by changing the clothing template url to a random url because you can change the url by some numbers and it comes up with the tempelate (i hope this makes sense)

Roblox has a horrible habit of rolling out highly requested features in the worst way possible.

The damage has been done. Unless the moderation department goes through the effort of deleting all botted clothing (you could just make a script to do that, but whatever) this won’t change anything. People will still buy copied clothes because they don’t want to go through the effort of looking for original creators.
The “community” has no way to warn people about copied clothing, either. Partially because of bots, and partially because of Roblox itself.

No, groups don’t get moderated because your pricing is too high randomly, so it does have to do with moderation, and no it has nothing to do with commissions as you don’t need a group for that part

I guess this is effective for spam-bot prevention- but only for a short term. There’s already discord bots that can steal someone’s clothing by getting the template, captcha bypass systems in which ROBLOX isn’t necessarily updating or upgrading, and other tools at our disposal that’ll just circumvent this in the long run. Also, why is there no character limit on names and why is the searching process for a specific clothing still trash? The catalog is a huge mess and this is only going to make things harder for small groups (especially clans, RPers, and fan clubs) and for small designers (50 robux upload with a big boi sales tax? oh nah). Also, there seems to be less and less incentives for purchasing Premium except for the icon in-game and robux.
