Upcoming Changes to Avatar Catalog Upload Requirements

This is actually a very viable solution. It makes it harder to upload clothing en massé, which makes it harder to bot the catalog.

I’m sure if you have better ideas, you’d be a reasonable person and submit them via the appropriate channels, rather than whining in an announcement.

I see no logical reason for this to be added other than monetary gain. A simple captcha prevents most functions for bots, why would it be different in uploading shirts and pants?

I don’t really care for bot’s either, I feel like this is a huge problem on Roblox with all categories. I also think this will be nice for players who don’t feel like buying premium. But basically spending 100 robux for a 2D shirt doesn’t really appeal to me. I think it has to be understood, that a lot of players are looking for cheap clothes 5-20 robux. And with the creator only getting 70% of the robux from these sales is nothing. I am leaning towards the clothing designers side on this. I feel like if this were to be update atl east make it cheaper. This is just my opinion, and I don’t think it is necessary to charge 100 robux, to upload shirts or pants.

ROBLOX economy is going to skyrocket. The fee is terrible. This update only advantages bots, and if not, will have the small creators devasted.

What about the already botted clothing, huh? What about the millions of copied clothing already on the platform? So many that deleting them all would cause 90% of avatars to loose their clothes that they paid money for.

No, lifetime BC carried over to Premium.

I don’t know what to say other than that this will have no positive effects aside from giving Roblox extra income from fees (If you consider that a benefit). This would be more reasonable if they removed the upload fee and only charged 50 robux to put it in sale, but having two different fees when you don’t even know if your item will upload correctly is simply absurd. It reminds me of the new audio Content ID system where musicians are getting their own music removed for copyright.

Imo it’s more effective for bots to just upload clothing using payouts from robux fraud groups than to buy premium with real money. This will most likely have minimal impact on them.

Though I see the reasoning behind this update, I feel it’s going to destroy some smaller Clothing-Designers. Any profit margins will be very thin, if they are lucky enough to have any at all.

It’d be really great if Roblox responded to us regarding what has been said sooner rather than later, as designers are quitting fast. I strongly encourage them to go through the feedback that they thanked us for once again. There is no shame in reversing a change, it’s better than keeping it knowing the damage it is already doing to the community. This isn’t something that’s just going to go away, action is needed.

Yall need to respond fast before everyone in the clothing design community quits

There’s an entire discord server with a bot that can pull the template off any shirt or pants.

I don’t think we will be saying goodbye to 75% of all the honest clothing designers, but rather 100% of the dishonest clothing designers. 50R$ really isn’t too high of a price, for small as well as big clothing designers in my opinion.

I’m not whinning, I was just bored out of my mind so I wanted to make a post that most people would agree with. I myself am not a clothing designer and I see a lot of people mistaking the fee for 100R$ when it’s just 50R$ and they don’t read.

It’s 50R$ to upload shirts and pants, putting them on sale doesn’t cost anything, it’s just for uploading them.

It’s 50R$ to put t-shirts on sale because uploading them is free.

Another thing I remember hearing about is that roblox plans to add the ability to modify existing assets such as decals and meshes, one can only assume that this will also apply to clothing as well.

Read my above post, and then re read their announcement.

It’s only 50R$ to put t shirts on sale.
and 50R$ just to upload clothing.

Where does it say that? It only says 50 robux to upload, not to put on sale. Please reply with a quote.

Koneko probably misread the annoucement. You should honestly take the announcement’s words over koneko’s.

the announcements words aren’t clear, and I took his explanation simplifying them. anyways stop attacking me please just tryna make the point, even if it is 200 or 100, it’s still way to expensive. <3

As it states, they cost 50R$ to upload, and it only says on T-Shirts that there is a 50 R$ fee when you put it on sale, this is so every item costs 50R$ to put on sale.
