Upcoming Changes to Avatar Catalog Upload Requirements

People are not satisfied because Roblox keeps wanting more and more. So much for a free platform. It’s just the idea that they are making changes to benefit themselves, not the players. Again, it’s nothing less than greed.

Redacted, in that case your arguments remain stale and less convincing. Also you need to clarify on “wanting more and more” what are their methods?

“So much for a free platform” not everything is expected to be free.

I don’t particularly care what you or anyone thinks. Wait until they add something that affects you. Then you can say something irrelevant in regards to my comments.

roblox is also in debt. there is not going to be a roblox if they cant afford to keep running it.

They did it themselves. All the changes made over the years, cause and effect. It’s not our problem they can’t run the platform properly. Maybe if they had listened to us “little people” maybe this mess wouldn’t be happening.

yeah I don’t think anyone on a lego forum has more financial training than someone who is hired to do that kind of stuff. (especially not give advice that can fix 100 million dollars of debt)

It’s apparent they aren’t financially smart either lol then again the majority of players are minors and don’t know what they are talking about half the time anyway.

And again, they caused this debt themselves. I could run it better with my eyes closed. :ok_hand:

There’s a way to test in studio already, albeit it’s definitely a little jerry-rigged.

Upload your piece of clothing as a decal, and then use the Decal ID in place of the Clothing ID in Studio for a Shirt/Pants Object.

Haven’t tried to do that in some time, unsure if it still works, but it just might.

ROBLOX needs a way to make money somehow. With them removing all these premium perks, fewer people will be buying premium.

here’s a wild idea, how about re-implement some of those perks then, or add new ones? I get that giving non-premium players is great and it makes the platform a lot less P2W/P2P, but there’s no reason for me to keep premium anymore except getting monthly robux

that, and trading. but still, ain’t much.

This update is pathetic, what happened to supporting small developers who are not as well known and won’t be able to make back the funds to account for the cost of “paying” to upload clothing. Especially for people who pay for premium. Premium is pretty much useless now so what’s the point of purchasing premium if us small developers will have to dig out of our own pockets to afford to upload these clothes and worry about not being able to make the funds back for the said uploads. Come on what happened to roblox thinking before doing things like this especially without the publics input about it and listening to them before doing said changes to the catalog and such. For now I will not be purchasing premium as it is now deemed useless to pay for.

Is there going to be an option in the future to use group funds to pay? I upload clothes to my group, so it would make sense to have the option of using group funds to pay for the upload fee.

Ah yes, they are making a conscious effort to remove spam, and someone has a different opinion than you you completely disregard it. Makes sense.

To be honest I agree though. This won’t fix it, the bigger bots probably have TONS and TONS of bobux$$$$$

ROBLOX is already making tons of money. I think they’re already successful and is doing perfectly fine. It’s not like they’re financially struggling with anything. In fact, Roblox is one of the top games trending today. Although 10 R$ might not be a big deal to me, but it’ll highly affect small designers or newly users who recently gain interested in creating designs.

I only disregard those who make no sense. Everyone knows Roblox is not in need. They are just greedy. You can bet people will still be copying even while we are being made to pay 10 robux. As an adult I can afford the fee, what I don’t agree with is how they keep taking. When are they going to give back? Not that anyone needs to answer that but you get what I am saying.

I do not like this but oh well. it will do for now I hope this will change where it could be free for people with Premium and that peopel without could pay instead. BC of Taxes

you basically didn’t prevent anything, firstly when the person who is stealing clothing buys premium they get 450, enough to make a group and enough to upload 50+ clothing.

I’m not saying to make it higher but still, why have this update we are completely paying roblox for what? We already have premium and we have to pay what if we want to make a clothing and it doesn’t do good and we lost 10 robux? This isn’t fair, it’s not our fault we fixed this you guys need to fix it but without US paying for it. outrageous, what am I supposed to do? Advertise on a group? Spam it?

I’ve been part of Roblox for going on 9 years now. In that time, I’ve seen some great updates and some not so great updates. I can confidently say that this is one of the worst that they have pushed despite all the feedback they’ve gotten from it. This is absolutely one of the most lazy, irresponsible, and community-harming updates that I’ve actually experienced. I understand that something must be done to stop clothing botters, but when there is a solution as easy as requiring an account age or a verified email before enabling an upload this seems like an update intended to target clothing designers specifically.

My friend just tried to start his own clothing group two or three days before this update was rolled out and he’s already almost out of money from just trying to start it up, it’s at the point where he’s going to buy premium (which he isn’t even supposed to need now) literally just to upload his clothing.

I uploaded a new suit for my own group two or three days ago now and it still hasn’t even shown up in the group store yet. Are you (Roblox) not wanting designers to make money off of their uploads anymore?

I think it’s also worthwhile to mention Roblox’s interest in continuing to sell premium. Literally the first thing I and many other designers done when seeing this update is canceled our renewing premium subscriptions, because I’m not paying just so I can have a unique chat tag in some random game or another useless “Premium Perk.”

My only request at this point is that if you want to “snuff out” a community, tell that community to it’s face instead of trying to diminish it’s profits gradually by pushing lazy updates.

I 100 percent agree with you on that, it’s pretty pathetic what roblox does nowadays. Only if we could have the old days back.

Not only I am being made to pay 10 robux to upload clothing but Roblox messed something up and I can’t get the clothes to update in my group store. So I am now paying for absolutely nothing and Roblox has blown me off 4 times when I made bug reports. Designing for my group is not even an option til they fix what they broke.
