Yet here we are, still waiting, so tell me, do you think that Roblox is being practical?
(just going to say that I don’t want this to be a storm of nothing but negativity and complaints, because this whole situation honestly is kind of hilarious; not because it’s funny, but because it’s audacious. for example, this quoted post)
EDIT I understand everyone here has a VERY good reason to complain, but as far as I can see, that’s not going to get us anywhere.
I’m extremely confused as to why Roblox hasn’t been giving us any update towards this change, as it has been almost (if not) 10 months since this is happened, almost a year, and here we are still waiting.
I don’t care whether we’ll be able to publish public audio once again (if that ever happens) I really just want to know what’s going to happen next, and what the future will hold for audio on Roblox- because it has been dead silent and people are starting to get upset with the lack of communication that has been provided on this topic. If you’re not going to do anything about it then just say that because it is a little ridiculous to have hundreds of developers waiting for almost a year with no hints or updates. I’m sorry if I sound a little impatient but 10 months is such a long time, especially for those who are actually trying to get something done with audio in their experiences.
i belive roblox is not updating us because they don’t know what to do
if they allow us to make audios public there will be countless bypassed audios in the first minutes of the updates released and in a matter of days they would be in a worst position then before the update because now people don’t need robux to upload
@BuildIntoGames Were you able to listen to the audio (added through code) in game during testing without granting access to them? Can you still reproduce the issue?
It has now been a year since this update and we still have not gotten an update from Roblox wether we can make audios public. If march passes and we still do not get an update from Roblox saying we can make audios public, I think it may be safe to say that Developers may start to leave the platform. Dealing with this update is not the answer. We have seen posts in #feature-requests being ignored even though they have thousands of likes and replies. Roblox could go bankrupt in case updates do not get better.
I have had this issue a few months ago too, but it appears to have been fixed. However, the issue where you cannot allow universes to play the audio through the “Specific Experiences” access configuration does not work for games you do not own. Users have to go to team create to grant permissions by clicking on the button in the output, since the “Enter Universe IDs” does not correctly grant permissions to the target universe.
The fact the audio privacy workflow is so bunk that @BuildIntoGamescould not even tell the updates for his game were messed up for almost an entire year is really spelling it out pretty clearly. This is essential functionality, just UNLOCK our ability to set Universe IDs in the configure page.
Seriously, we’ve ‘stayed tuned’ for nearly a year now. Can we get any kind of update on the roadmap for privacy configuration? Not trying to complain, but it’s a bit unreasonable to expect devs not to be impatient at this point
It’s 2023 and it might be time to announce something new about this failed update… We have not heard from us for some time. If you are confused and do not know what to do, let us know! I think people will understand, sometimes the solution to the problem can take a long time to arrive, but leaving us without any news is really inadmissible! Running away from problems like you are currently doing is not the solution! I hope we will hear more soon about this horror you have done! (Yes I still find this update to be just horrible and completely failed)
This horrible update could have been successful… but it was made in haste andBut it was done in haste and frankly. I don’t think that’s a good thing…
I want to apologize if there are any errors in my text because I used an automatic translator.
Now I think it’s likely someone else will do that instead (if anybody at all) or that we won’t get any update soon since the OP author no longer appears to be a Roblox employee…
So uh… Any updates on allowing us to make our uploads available for public use? it’s been a few months (almost a full year) since it was disabled and I genuinely find this very frustrating having to use up my limited uploads trying to make my own when other people are wanting to use what they can find publicly available already.
nah fr though y’all really need to give an update on this, it’s almost been a year since there has been any sort of update on audio privacy and i have a feeling they’ve either forgotten about this post or gave up altogether
@SubtotalAnt8185 That is the intended workflow. Currently, you can give access to Audio only to games you can edit. We will update the documentation to clarify this.
