Hey so, when are we thinking about actually rolling out the feature to make audio public? Is working and improving on moderation hard enough for a multi-billion dollar company to the point where you have to remove an entire feature that has been in the platform for years? This is just ridiculous and at this point, I am pretty sure you don’t even care by the looks of it.

Someday in 2024, it could be in January, or even December. At the very least we will get audio back.

It’s crazy how much power users were given with UGC creation yet audios went the full opposite direction.

The fact that I have to manually grant permission to use my own SFX in my own places is kind of ridiculous. There are a bunch of problems with the provided solutions to this as well:
- The audio discovery plugin doesn’t even work, the list of sounds just shows up empty every time I try to use it
- Opening a place in studio that has my sounds doesn’t reliably give the grant permission prompt in the console
In my case I have a platforming system that has around 50 different sounds, and I have at least 5 places that use said system so I’ve had to tediously grant permission for every sound each time. For sounds I uploaded myself in places I own. There should really be better tools to deal with sound permissions in bulk.

Glad somebody has said this. The audio discovery plugin does not work, this has made publishing to new groups or new places a painful and dreadful process for experiences with hundreds of sounds.
Not sure if a bug report has been made, but pls fix.

I get yall have to figure out how to moderate audios (Which for some reason has taken over a year), but can we at least make our own audios public that are under the 6-second marker? This is driving me insane having to grant each experience access. This is a long overdue update and honestly is unacceptable for it to have taken this long.

Honestly probably will take their entire developer community to speak out about it before they actually do something. They don’t care about us, they care about their investors.

Well roblox instead of removing it all together let us have more control.
For example if you use your group’s audio in your experiences it will be allowed. and also, if you use your audio or your group’s audio in someone else’s game, instead the audio’s owner can deny or allow access for that game to use the audio.
Because having the game’s owner grant audio is unfair because your audio is your audio.

And plus, upgrade the copyright detector so it searches the internet for that audio and determines if it’s copyrighted or not. If it is copyrighted it’ll block it, and if not copyrighted it’ll let it be published but with suggesting credit to the owner of the music.

Classic faces are abruptly going away, Roblox lied about whether the majority of traders wanted holding periods, we still can’t set our audio to public, and now there’s rumor that licensed SFX also qualify under the 250 limit for licensed audio.
I’m certain we’re nearly at the point where the community has had enough and cannot take it anymore.
I keep thinking about this, but really I am too lazy to do that. If somebody wants to, that’d be awesome, but I’ve heard the Bay Area has become a crime epicenter.

I didn’t ask for this update and I’m sure no one else asked for this update!
Now some audios i like listening to in roblox will just disappear!
