Looks like an issue on the Devâs side for not using one script to manage all of the skins
This isnât a chat related issue, its been a bug for years and is just a pain to report (likely why it hasnât ever been fixed), and is fairly easy to just work around (basically hit the key that you previously pressed, or like hit all movement keys to stop it), plus it rarely ever happens.
Because it occurs when the engine thinks youâre still holding down a button but you arenât.
They can still use custom UI, the default TextChatService UI can be disabled and you can enable your own custom UI. However unfortunately I believe that you canât edit the contents of the TextBox once you switch to TextChatService so stuff like autocomplete and âquick chatsâ isnât possible anymore

for places for <13 ages only. Parental control is not active for 13+ users.
This is an issue on Robloxâs side for suddenly breaking something without warning that had a reasonable expectation that it would function indefinitely.
Old chat system doesnât have these issues I mentioned. So itâs an issue with the new chat
If they want 100 scripts for each model, then do find all and replace player.Chatted with player:GetAttributeChangedSignal(âLastChatMessageâ), set the attribute on server each time player chats
And if we refuse to upgrade our chat systems, what happens then?

Would be wild if this was the earliest sign of the Switch 2 release date with Roblox as a launch title
My unmaintained game uses a custom chat ui, but has no private (direct) chat feature, will it be affected by this migration?
I have tested this for a bit and it seems that the jump issue only happens on TextChatService while the moving issue happens on both.

if it has the same UI as before, but rounded edges & Builder Sans.
Please can we get features to move the chatbox to any position on screen as well as a few readable values from the chat window, weather its visible and how faded out it is. A very simple task of fading a background attached to the chat window is currently very hard to do unless you make a totally custom ui implementation (I have not explored that option yet, I have no idea where to even start on something like that.) These will be very helpful to creators who just want the window to be a little more stylized while still just being the default chat window.
hi guys. iâm kinda shivering in my timbers right now, because the migration is getting ever closer, and there are yet no announcements on textchatservice supporting chat from players in different servers.
this is a huge deal for the group iâm a part of, as our game relies upon global chat for most/all socialization. without it, we may genuinely lose even more players than we already are.
i would be happy to migrate if you guys add this. without it, we are very much in trouble
I think this is a bad update because the legacy is so nostalgic, also guys DONT SNITCH ON THE OTHER LEGACY COREGUIS
You can literally use your own custom UI. It is the exact same as the legacy chat system in that a default UI is made but you can turn it off and make your own.
Any timeframe on when textchat will be coming to playstation/xbox?
