unfortunately even developers with special contacts at roblox were only told that they are reworking the entire verification system, and their support just gives the same copy and paste response: “if you or your group are compliant with criteria, you can expect the verified badge to be granted within the next several weeks.”
lets hope there will be a verification wave next month
“If you or your group are compliant with criteria, you can expect the verified badge to be granted within the next several weeks.” is the basic/standard AI response from Roblox Support for that matter, that does not mean there will be a wave.
I find it pretty sloppy that there is no public update from Roblox about Verified Badges.
The system is known to be paused, yet the public-facing information displayed across all of their communication channels and blog posts indicates that the system is still up and running.
Even responses from support (though AI generated or pasted) indicate that the system is still running.
I personally have been eligible for the Verified Badge since October. Not a big deal, but I was pretty happy about getting it, and never did. Just disappointing.
Hoping for some transparency from Roblox soon about what’s going on with verification badges.
I totally agree. I have been waiting for verification for awhile now, and no updates from roblox? I know roblox isn’t the best with support, or telling the community anything, but this is pretty strange. I’ve worked my butt off, and all I want is a 64x64 badge by my name to show I am a real dev.
I haven’t seen any proper signs of them planning to launch any public waves yet, I really do assume that they are searching for a solution of providing a more fair system given certain groups sell hundreds of checkmarks illegitimately
This behavior from Roblox is not anything new, my very first post on this topic revolves around Roblox’s lack of transparency and me complaining about visible bugs in the system.
It’s unclear when group contributors will be verified again. Changes to address abuse are rarely announced. Hopefully we receive more information about this soon.
It seems like the AMA response indicates that there will be verified waves again starting next month with the qualifying criteria, though with the exception of group contributors.
This shows that the previous assumptions I named above were true and they try to crack down the illegitimate verified badge sellers/buyers.
So contributors still have to wait a while to get verified? I just don’t understand why they don’t make it an application process for when you meet the requirements
I just realized there was an AMA. Does anyone know if they’re changing the contribution process? Specifically, from requiring studio access to instead having to receive a percentage? I feel like this change could help prevent people from getting verified without actually contributing to the project.
Would changing the owner of the group to an alternate account then changing it to back to the main one have an impact on the eligibility of the verified badge if it was done more than a month ago? The game in the group still has over 1M+ hours in the last 90 days, but not in the timeframe when the group owner was changed back to now.
