Completely agree. I guess if this happened to you the best thing to do is to reach out to a judge or moderator and hope they understand. Hopefully this doesnā€™t disqualify anyone though as everyone worked super hard on their games for weeks.

I agree that it was a lot of work, and that work shouldnt be disqualified because of a tiny error.

On the other hand, the deadline was stated 10 days ahead of time, which is why my policy is always to try and complete the game several hours before the actual due date in case something happens.

If anything, the best solution is to use the version last published before the deadline, as a middle ground of sorts.

Ultimately, though, it is up to the judges what is allowed and not allowed.

It wonā€™t do anything. If you qualify for the next phase everyone will see your game, therefore, most of them will visit it, and after the event ends you are free to do anything with the game.
With that being said, putting a donation button or anything is perfectly fine.

Do not edit your place.
Do not change descriptions, thumbnails or icons.
Do not change configurations.

Why risk being disqualified? Everyone who sent a game will get the participation reward anyways doesnt matter if the game works or not. Its not worth it risking being disqualified and its not fair for others who are not editing the game after the deadline.
