Updating Experience Guideline Policies to Keep Our Younger Users Safe

Of course, I am more focused on the sale of lootboxes and passes that dont have a certain outcome, eg the pet sim 99 “Reward Road” or whatever its called

Technically still gambling, but you choose how to spend your robux.

It is the use of real money in the hope of a desired outcome. You dont open a lootbox in hopes for the 99% low value item, you open them for the 0.0001% $1000 item.

the difference there is those analytics are anonymized. you cannot identify a specific user’s age group based purely off of those analytics.

I’m going to give my overall opinion on this update.

First of all this and the group wall update were both responses to a twitter post similar to Reuben Sim’s but by a bigger “news?” Person.

This will not stop condo or innappropriate games in the slightest, as if people search for them they’ll find them, regardless of age as it’s developer set.

This will hinder games such as club iris, but honestly <13 people are annoying in games like those anyway.

My main concern is the differentiating of social games and roleplaying games. There’s an obvious loophole here, they can just make their game more brookhaven-esque, add a few gears, and a teleport to the “main location” everyone hangs out in, and it’s a roleplay game. This is a crazy loophole and idk how they’ll moderate this.

This mainly serves to hinder games with good intentions (what will happen to blockate or pls donate?) than to stop games with bad intentions. It looks good to the investors though.

Welp, rip pls donate :sob: that was my main chilling game until I made a mistake that caused me a permaban but still sad to see <13 peoples wont be able to raise/donate to others

Communication among <13 peoples is getting harder for them to make new friends

Anyways back on topic.

This game (formerly called Public Bathroom Simulator) already changed it’s name to include “Roleplay” in order to not get banned for under 13s

See, this is the type of loophole I meant in my above post. This hinders real games but looks good to investors.

But they are stopping them from being able to access games like copyrighted artists and other “Free Draw” games. Surely this is a step in the right direction for user safety. I mean these kids will be so safe in the future they wont be able to communicate with anyone. First the group wall and now this - im all for anything that enhances the safety of children and I am sure this will as in theory it should stop kids accessing hangout games with a range of different ages and “Characters” on.

Under 13 users should not be maxxing out grandpas credit card for the betterment of 30yr old simon who afks all day begging for robux.

I agree with this but I don’t agree with the group wall change honestly. <13 users have no way of communicating with developers and cannot appeal bans or suggest features. That update hindered more actual groups.

And yup… the next thing is to combat bots /s

What if… <13yrolds… want… robux? Themselves??

I have heard the majority of group owners say this, but as having expereince managing large groups myself - the wall is occasionally misused, and as someone who dosent have time to manage it and delete messages, I hope this will remove the small faction of users who spoil the group wall for all.

This doesn’t stop them at all, >13 year olds are the ones participating in these activities in the first place!

Im saying they shouldnt need to spend robux on other, older, more economically active people. There is no need to be so passive agressive im just sharing an opinion, there is no right or wrong :heartpulse:
