We have an exciting update for the Roblox community. Users can now receive up to 25% more Robux when purchasing through gift cards, computer, or web. If a user already has a Roblox gift card and redeems it on their computer or web, they will also receive up to 25% more Robux. This new pricing will be available for all global users moving forward.
Giving users more Robux means more Robux for our creator community to earn. For example, users who purchase US $9.99 worth of Robux with a gift card, computer, or web would have originally received 800 Robux but will now receive 200 extra Robux or a total of 1000 Robux to spend on passes, in-experience items, and avatar items. Users who purchase a $10 gift card may now receive up to 1000 Robux when previously they would have received 800 Robux.
Note that there is no change to developer exchange rates. This means that with this change, more money is getting to creators for every dollar spent by our users.
This is a durable change, not a holiday promotion. We plan to keep this new pricing in place globally beyond the holiday season.
Does this change apply to gift cards purchased before today?
Yes. Users who redeem their gift cards, including those purchased before today, on computer or web will get up to 25% more Robux to spend.
Why is the new pricing only available for gift cards and on computer and web?
We’re always looking for opportunities to share more with our community, on all platforms and we’ll keep you updated on channels where the opportunity becomes available.
Not like this was going to change, but this is a fire update.
Although I didn’t read through this all and just skipped through most of it, from what I’m understanding, if they already have redeemed a gift card and it is sitting in their credits wallet, they get 25% more?
But my main question is, why did you do this? Is it to boost purchases?
I think we all would still really appreciate it if you guys could consider increasing the developer exchange rates, even by a little. Other than that, this is a very awesome update!
Hey whist you guys are at it, could roblox gift cards be made able to be redeemed on the research panel? As currently its quite silly that roblox gift cards cant be redeemed.
Yes because they’ll earn 30% more money if you buy a giftcard or Robux straight from the site instead of going through Apple where they only make $13.90 off the $20 package.
I’m a little concerned that Apple’s gonna throw a hissy fit over this like they did with Fortnite. But, as someone who (somewhat notoriously) changes their username a lot, it’s nice to see 1,000 Robux actually be available to buy instead of me having to make either two purchases or one large purchase.
