Basing off the formula used on the first two, I’d say a more reasonable amount is 2300 or 2335, as that’s more accurate to the “25% Increase” statement.
Will the dev ex rate increase with this change becuase surely if a user has more of a disposable balance (the extra 200) they can afford to buy more items.
Why? Why do people on computer and desktop devices get the privellage of simply more robux? Athough I like the idea I do not see why it was added.
Yeah, was hoping it would be retroactive all the way down. I made tons of purchases well over a decade ago, would be nice to get some more out of those.
Honestly, I am a bit concerned at how mobile platforms like Apple and Google may interpret this change. I’m all for lower prices for consumers and more money into the pockets of devs (!!!), but this definitely seems pretty similar to what Epic Games did with Fortnite a while back.
I know a lot of people are saying that this is different in the fact that Epic tried charging users directly on Apple through another payment platform, but this approach essentially is sending users to a different payment platform.
Might hurt revenue for the big mobile guys, and they may not like that . Otherwise, I approve!
great update, hopefully apple and google does not decide to be greedy like they did with epic. Guessing this is more of a word of mouth thing and mobile users won’t get any hint that they can get more Robux using a website.
Late, but my guess is that it’s an incentive to buy Robux from the website/desktop app, as purchases from other methods such as through mobile or console, are subject to a 30% fee, meaning that Roblox only gets 70% of the revenue from the purchase.
This is honestly such a big win for developers, I think. PC players are also more likely to play games for longer, and are overall a very good market to advertise to, though usually less in players than mobile. Taking control away from the very expensive fees associated with the mobile scene and putting it back into PC player’s hands, strategically, sets a precedent I am whole-heartedly in favor of for an almost uncountable amount of reasons.
More income from the most dedicated playerbase, as well as a stance against the excessive app store fees associated with Google and Apple. What’s more to love?
