USMG Uniform Policy
1. Hats
Hairs and hats may be worn in uniform under certain conditions.
- Hats will not be worn indoors in a garrison environment
- Hats will match the camouflage pattern of the uniform currently worn, or be a neutral base color
- Hair will be a neutral color, with no excessively long hair on males, or adornments or trendy coloring on any hair
- Hats and hair will not be worn in such a combination that it detracts from the overall appearance of one’s uniform
- Hats or accessories specific to certain units or functions not being filled by the wearer of said item are prohibited from being worn (i.e. Green beret when you’re not special forces, pilot gear when you’re not flying a plane, etc.)
- Conservative and realistic accessories are allowed in uniform, so long as your Officer allows it
2. USM Uniforms
The base uniforms for both deployed (non-USM owned games) and garrison (USM-owned games) members of the USMG are listed in the main USM group store. The description of each uniform item explain which branch is permitted to wear that uniform item. The uniforms for sale in the main USM group are for wear both in combat and in non-combat scenarios.
3. Role of the exchange
The USMG Military Exchange will house optional formal uniforms, custom uniforms, and unit uniforms which are authorized for purchase by those that fulfill the prerequisites stated in the description of each item. Members may purchase custom uniforms sanctioned by the USMG exchange so long as they cover the costs associated with producing said uniform item.
4. Formals
Formals are only to be worn with the awards and accolades that one has rightfully earned. They also adhere to real life military standards, and should not include any hat or accessory not actually worn with said item in real life. Covers are not required for formals outdoors if you do not have access to them.
5. Garrison vs field wear
Combat accessories are authorized for use in combat environments. Unit Officers may institute more relaxed policies for deployed uniforms if they so choose, as long as they are in line with the spirit of this regulation.
6. Uniform Costs
If one cannot afford a uniform, and is O1+, they may request funding to procure a uniform. They may also be awarded funding if they are a member of a SOF unit, or complete Ranger or Sapper school.
Members are encouraged to do their best to abide by the uniform policy even if they do not own the uniform items by wearing items similar to those sold in the USM group store. If you have no military themed items, this is fine, simply wear items that most resemble your assigned uniform.
