"We’ve started issuing badges again for those who meet the qualifying criteria here.
Of note, we’ve paused issuing badges to group contributors as we’ve seen some abuse with group owners selling badges to group members. Badges for group owners will continue to be issued.
That said, if you meet the criteria outside of being a group contributor, you should see badges on your account soon."
As @xBigBroGregx mentioned, group owners are supposed to receive the badge. However, THREE waves have already passed and group owners still haven’t received it.
Expected behavior
As @xBigBroGregx mentioned, group owners are supposed to receive the badge. If everything had been working as expected, the badge should have been granted within the first three waves, but the badges were only given to groups. This issue should be addressed as soon as possible.
Also, would it be possible to get an official statement regarding group contributors as well? Some clarification on this would be really appreciated.
Is there any link or reference to the group/user that’s affected by this? Since they haven’t seen anyone complaining or providing anything, they might have simply chosen not to respond.
I checked, and honestly, you could say I just forgot to respond. Hopefully it gets addressed, but there isn’t even a single group link here, so there’s nothing for the staff to go off of. So it’s still confusing what exactly they’re supposed to respond to.
Most “creators” who are verified as contributors based on follower count don’t even deserve that badge. Roblox isn’t removing them — they’ve just paused the verified badge program for contributors and are now focusing on encouraging everyone to create their own content. But the ones from the past still remain.
Experience developers will receive the verification badge if they have legitimate 10,000 followers. Since the group experience is owned by the group and not the group holder themselves, they do not meet the criteria of being verified. Roblox sees the group holder as a contributor since it’s not written to their name.
Creators of avatar items do not require 10,000 followers and the owner of the group will be verified alongside the group.
As far as I see it both group owners & group contributors need at least 10K legitimate followers on Roblox, and the game in question needs to have 1M+ hours playtime in the past 90 days.
Whether or not you are a group OWNER or a group CONTRIBUTOR doesn’t change these requirements, however. Roblox stated that badges have been paused for group CONTRIBUTORS only due to the selling of badges, group owners, (if meeting those requirements) should still receive the badge.
This isn’t what is happening though. I’m experiencing this myself. If there’s even any staff looking through this report at all; here’s proof that I — and many others in this same situation — should be receiving the verification, but are not:
My profile has at least 10K legit followers (I checked by hand), and my game, which is under my group that I OWN has the required playtime (see attached screenshot). This has been the case for the past 6 months and yet nothing has been given, even though group owners should still receive badges.
(total playtime 1.075M hours in the past 90 days on the 29th of may, 2025)
I have a group that’s going to be verified in the next wave — it’s about 15K sales away, and it’s currently doing around 8K sales per day, so it’s getting really close to 200K items sold in the last 90 days. The group is specifically driven by UGC sales and has already generated over 5 million in total revenue.
We’re going to make the group uploader the group owner so that both get verified. If that works — which would pretty much confirm that they’re verifying UGC creators along with their groups — it might not actually be the best strategic move for us.
