Visitors shouldn't be able to like posts

Thats why you can disable notifications. This guy has no idea what he’s talking about in a sense.

I don’t really understand your thinking, how is it that visitors are abusing the like System?
They’re simply agreeing with you, what’s wrong with that?
Whenever I get a like notification I just ignore it, doesn’t matter if it’s from a visitor or a member or a Roblox staff
This would also mean they are also abusing the follow system, as I always get follow notifications mainly from visitors

Your posts doesn’t make any sense

This is a stupid post. Visitors should not be able to like because your mad about having mass likes? Like really. You could just ignore it, but if you’re really mad… There is lots of stuff you could do about this…

  • Block the user
  • Find something under settings (does not look like you even tried…)
  • Tell the user politely to stop. (Really easy)

The first 2 options will stop all of your problems… all?

But the thing is what’s the problem?
Like what’s the problem with having 2k likes with 80% being from visitors?
It’s just like asking who agree is with you but the ones that just got here can’t agree with you

Oky so now you’re being a hypocrite, you want to get notified when a Visitor likes your post but you want them to stop

This is still happening. Visitors are literally liking posts until they run out and just “like” whatever they read, no matter the post contents.

It makes it feel like likes aren’t as valuable.

i shall only say that visitors count as people in this domain

and i shalln’t come back here no more

have fun

Although it could be abused its still nice to have a way for visitors to interact with posts.

disagree, what’s wrong with getting free likes?

Yes, but there isn’t a setting that only shows likes from members. I might just disable like notifications altogether, but it isn’t exactly what I want. I want them to be only from members.

Adding onto this thread, it would avoid users being able to boost their likes by using alts, as shown by accounts like @\Tanhavampire being the worlds most obvious like boosting account

Only 7 of those 246 likes were to users other than the person boosting themself, roughly 2.84ish percent if my math isn’t bad.

As you can clearly see, this account is still a visitor (no rank, no posts) and is clearly not intended for use other than like boosting (1h read time, 11 days visited, despite being created on january 4th)

“she” is boosting the guy who made the free exploit lol

why? ik it’s old but being liked by people who don’t have the ability to comment isn’t much different than being liked by a member. yeah you can bot boost accounts but it doesn’t have to do anything with you. #protectvisitors

I randomly found this account named @EvilVSCPlays which confused me as my name is “VSCPlays” and the account name contains “VSCPlays”, and it’s an visitor, and weird accounts are here to like my post about the fact that we made WHYI_MFAT remove his rating from ChatGPT

That account isn’t even mine, The majority of my alts doesn’t have “VSCPlays” in it, like how my “alphabetacreator” account doesn’t even have “VSCPlays” in it, it’s similar to “Abcreator” only this account is my only account that has “VSCPlays” in it

Brings up an interesting point. Makes me think someone could easily get someone else banned off of the forums because they have similar names and like all of their posts.

I have not seen anyone abuse it yet but I’m sure it’s possible.

This is not a viable solution. Visitors liking posts is still incredibly annoying, and just muting likes altogether from tl2/3 is not useful.

Hello not evil VSCPlays, I am not a visitor account anymore.

That was an old post, that was made when you were a visitor

Wonder how you came up with that name. Anyways, since you were a visitor, please explain.

Too much complaining over absolutely nothing.

Being legitimately annoyed by DevForum notifications is honestly kind of shocking to me. It’s a blue number triggered by some guy who isn’t a member yet, big deal.

As for like boosting, only losers do that and it hardly affects anything. Likes are meaningless for a reason. Boosting likes just inflates some dumb stat and compensates for whatever hole isn’t being filled in the perpetrator’s soul.

Visitors also can’t access dev discussion, only resources, feedback, bugs, and annoucements, making this so-called problem even more insignificant…
