Voice Chat Perms Randomly Gone

I’ve had voice chat since it initially came out. I am age verified and my account settings reflect that, however on voice.roblox.com/v1/settings it shows the following:

Unsure what changed or if the engine is currently down and no properly checking for voice chat permissions.

This is now the second time my permissions randomly disappear like it doesn’t exist without any warning in-game or via the website.

And like the last time, the permissions randomly appeared and came back again.

Hello! Are you experiencing issues with voice permissions with your account? There have been lots of changes over the past year so I’m curious if you’re still running into problems.

Hello, I am not the OP, but I have encountered the same issue where I am unable to access my voice chat even though I am not banned from it. The option to enable voice chat randomly disappeared after I manually disabled it for a few months. I have tried almost every fix and tried contacting support to no avail.

I’m not sure what causes this but I have lost access to voice chat for multiple months and it’s really slowing down the progress of integrating voice chat in my RPG game.

Hello! Voice Chat is subject to regional differences, and we are continuing to make changes so do check for access in the future.

I am in a voice chat enabled region (United States) and everyone I know in real life in my city is able to access it. I don’t know why it’d be disabled for me because of my region.

Something interesting is that all affected users I’ve seen so far appear to be from Texas specifically. (@Hypduh Can you confirm whether you’re from Texas?)

If it really is only affecting Texas users, then I think VC was somehow just never fully rolled out to Texas users in the first place. I checked my own API response as well, and we’re all unable to use VC because of denial reason 3, which means “criteria met however not in deployed country, state, or city” according to this post.

Haven’t been logged into devforum in a while, sorry for the necropost but I thought it was worth sharing how I fixed it as apparently other people have similar issues.

Use a second account with voice chat, open the settings page on that account, open a new tab and switch accounts to the account with voice chat disabled on that tab. Go back to the settings page and turn voice chat on.

I’m fairly certain this bug affected people in the United States who had their voice chat turned off whenever they switched the account location to include the state.

yeah mine’s just randomly gone too, i’ve had VC for years ever since the closed beta and now all of a sudden it’s gone, even though i have a verified phone number

It’s resolved now for me. Don’t remember how long. I think only a few hourw befirw I made that post, then for a few days following till now.

for some people its only been gone for a few hours or days, for some reason for me its been gone for over a year
