Hello there. It’s agent here. Today I wanted to show a bit more progress on where I am up to in regards to the game. Let’s see what I have done:

  • New and improved Controller
  • New Camera
  • Prototype anti-exploits
  • Ashaway, Infraction new models
  • Even MORE performant Vindicroy Controller (Wall walking)
  • New map (sorta)

So, let’s discuss a few things then.

Controller?

I have been working on a new simplified controller. It doesn’t use Humanoids which are inexpedient and don’t really work for my situation. At the end of the project there will be no Humanoids whatsoever.

The downside to all of this is that I have had to research the internet on how to create custom controllers from scratch.

A few things to note:

  • I am not an animator. The animations I used are either from the toolbox and edited by me or are from the library.
  • I am not a modeler. All the models are from Roblox library.

What I DID do:

  • Create custom movement
  • Smooth camera with lerping
  • Robust Anti-Exploit system along with movement

The controller has the ability to store and access 3 different elements along with their 3 different spells. So it will store 9 spells in total. Which I think will make for interesting gameplay.

Much of this is a WIP but I hope to soldier on with this passion project! Feedback on the Controller is appreciated. I am not going to publicize the game at this point. I need to finish the SFX and VFX for it.

New Map

The problem with the old map was that it was just too simple and too dark.


Initially this was going to be the “capture point” Didn’t really finish it though.

These were going to be the objects that Ashaway could manipulate and throw at enemies.


Old Ashaway Characters (I didn’t even get to use them)

The new map I think is much better.

Labeled green is the Ashaways (the magic faction) In the future they will have horses and dragons to fly around the city as “powerups” which can be bought with LUNGURIUM

The City itself is the first outpost of the Vindicroy’s on the planet. There used to be relative peace however,long story short Vindicroy interruted it. Around 3000 persons live in the city. The Vindicroy Mechs have the job of defending their city from the invaders. They will spawn with parachutes from the sky at the places marked as blue.

Labele Red is the Infraction Faction (The droid army faction). I am planning on upgrading their controller too in the coming weeks

Finally Vindicroy Controller

I have made several improvements to the controller

Initially when I first started out I used around 32 different frame by frame raycast for the position, orientation and exploit prevention.

I have now figured out to turn that number into 4! 3 for client 1 for server. legs might still take raycast per leg due to the way in which legs work. But I am thinking of showcasing the improved controller soon.
