We’re updating Heads!

For those unaware, when Roblox says “In the future” or “in the coming months” it is synonymous to never

Haha true. If people will hate it Roblox will somehow find a way to get it done

we need to make noise comparable to experimental mode in 2018, they found a solution “in the coming months” in a few days

Anyway, Roblox, this is, and I mean it when I say it, by far your worse update since the audio update, it might be even compared to it, so you understand how bad that is, you must revert it, because if you don’t and you keep going on with forcing these new things, removing legacy content and forcing us to use new content that must be paid, then you truly are greedy, non caring, and bad at decision making, and if you do that, I don’t know how many Developers will start moving to new Engines

So Developers I got a question, if this goes in the worse way, where will you move? Unreal Engine? unity?

Wait, if they are removing classic faces, what about faces like Yum!, Super Super Happy Face, and Red Glowing Eyes? How could those turn into dynamic heads?

Love it. Always wanted to see the old, cringe, Roblox “classic OG nostalgia” go away. We should, as a platform be moving forward. If you are still stuck in some 2006 block game, please go and take your anger elsewhere. Roblox is only looking for profit. Personally, I think this will be great for the development companies that have recently joined Roblox. They will respect Roblox more as a platform and also look at Roblox with high expectations and progressively “kicking out” this out of their platform.

woo. happy 1.1k replies. good going roblox

also i’m still figuring that one out, might try source modding if they ever do anything with source 2 tools or s&box comes out… otherwise, unity probably? unreal looks nice, but i dunno if that’s enough to warrant me moving to it altogether.

@Roblox how much money would it take to slide this little feature under the rug

I don’t know what people were expecting, honestly.

Given how the animation update was lambasted and unresolved, the oof sound is nowhere to be seen in official capacity, the sound update having ruined a lot of old and new games’ soundscapes, and the uncertainty of even licensed audio libraries withstanding the test of time, this does not come to a surprise to me.

Color me unenthusiastic or disillusioned, but Roblox has never really changed - this has been a habitual behavior on their part for the greater chunk of five years.

We can’t genuinely expect better from Roblox unless the people who make the platform’s most popular games make a genuine stand against these kinds of changes. A strike is currently happening in hollywood and other artistic industries like it, but personally I don’t see it happening so easily on Roblox.

There is no ability to version places/experiences for specific iterations of the engine for game longevity, updates are forced, anti-cheat is practically non-existent, developers are punished for wanting to foster communities with older users that are more likely to use ad-blocker, and the team behind the changes are instructed to do these things by unfeeling, uncaring, greedy figureheads that don’t understand what makes Roblox so special in the first place.

This is not the last time they will do something like this to the community, and it’s up to the community to decide whether or not they will continue to endure this kind of treatment, or put their money into some other platform. The more they pull these kinds of reckless stunts, the more likely that game developers and community members will lose interest, hope or love for the platform, and leave.

As much as I want to say that Roblox should reconsider, they won’t unless they’re hurt where it counts.

This is the unfortunate truth of the matter. Unless big name developers of front page games do something, nothing will ever cause Roblox to change course. The only way developer outrage could ever hope to change Roblox’s mind is if front page developers and not just devforum or casual players got outraged. They’re the only ones with leverage, but its not like they have interest either. Roblox talks so much about “empowering creators”, but its clear they only empower the very top.

well said, i believe that this is just the sad, hard truth.

odds are though, roblox will continue growing as it always does, and developers will just have to endure this and roblox’s many other undelivered promises for years to come. a ‘roblox strike’ would be interesting but i can’t see it happening, most big developers are making just their money and getting sketchy free passes from roblox to allow themselves to infringe copyrighted content and violate other platform rules when no one else can; i can imagine they’re content where they are now.

I remember seeing this back when the Innovation Awards was upcoming in 2022

This is literally the worst idea ever you guys are a bunch of clowns if you actually think this is a good idea. These new heads look like complete dog and the fact that you think it’s a good idea to release his AND have the audacity to remove the old (better) heads/faces is genuinely concerning.

And you think the audio privacy update was bad?

Yeah, and I thought the audio privacy update was bad enough

Yeah, Roblox needs to stop with the terrible updates and listen to us Robloxians for once, this platform is dying by the looks of it
