I agree this update couldnt possibly be better dang honestly, probably anway. I am shocked to see so much community uproar about it. this update, WHOEVER came up with this idea needs to be promoted to head of staff. HEAD of head of staff. Seriously though, come on you all have to be Kidding me. get with the program this update rocks.
It’s fine, we can laugh at home knowing forum jannies are never paid as well as the CEO they bootlick.
Why does Roblox want to play roulette with this update?
Its really not that difficult to balance it out… I think Baszucki has this idea in his head that the metaverse is a mind-blowing billion dollar concept and he doesn’t want to give up… I really don’t understand what he sees.
Maybe if i am formal they will listen to me
Concerns Regarding Recent Roblox Update
Dear Roblox Staff,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding the recent update that was implemented on the Roblox platform. As an avid user and a dedicated member of the Roblox community, I feel it is crucial to bring to your attention the collective sentiments of many users who share my perspective.
Firstly, I must emphasize that this update has been met with an overwhelming negative response from the community. Numerous discussions on forums, social media platforms, and within in-game chat indicate widespread discontent. The user experience has significantly deteriorated, with many reporting increased instances of glitches, crashes, and game-breaking bugs. It has not only disrupted gameplay but has also hampered the creative potential of developers who rely on a stable environment to bring their ideas to life.
Furthermore, the changes introduced in this update seem to prioritize cosmetic enhancements over addressing fundamental issues and improving core functionalities. This decision has left many members of the community feeling unheard and their needs disregarded. In a community-driven platform like Roblox, it is essential to prioritize the concerns and suggestions of its users to maintain a loyal and engaged player base.
The negative impact of this update goes beyond the immediate user experience. As word spreads about the unsatisfactory changes, we are witnessing an alarming exodus of players from the platform. This mass migration to other gaming platforms not only affects Roblox’s reputation but also poses a significant threat to the company’s financial bottom line. Reduced user engagement and declining revenues can have long-term consequences for the platform’s sustainability.
I implore you to reconsider the decisions made in this update and take into account the valuable feedback provided by the community. Transparent communication with the users regarding future updates and a commitment to addressing their concerns would go a long way in rebuilding trust and fostering a positive relationship between Roblox Corporation and its users.
In conclusion, I urge you to act promptly and collaboratively with the community to rectify the shortcomings of this update. Roblox’s success has always been rooted in its passionate and engaged user base, and it is essential to nurture and preserve this relationship for the long-term success of the platform.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing from you and witnessing positive changes that demonstrate Roblox Corporation’s commitment to its community.
Sincerely, Someone who has been on the platform since 2009
like how mutiple Roblox employees have come out saying blatantly racist things both in employee gatherings and on anonymous work chat apps!
Maybe if we get people to flood this post to the point that they have to close it they might listen.
Say it ain’t so!
Of course, but if their most profitable experiences were to suddenly go on strike, I think that would signal something to the higher-ups. Granted that is only wishful thinking, it would send a message.
Dear Roblox,
I am writing to express grave concerns about the recent Roblox update’s potential financial repercussions. The update has triggered widespread discontent within the community, resulting in reduced user engagement and a sharp decline in player retention.
The negative sentiment surrounding the update is prompting many users to explore alternative gaming platforms, posing a significant threat to Roblox Corporation’s revenue streams. Immediate action is necessary to address these issues and regain the trust and loyalty of the community.
I implore you to prioritize the financial implications of this update and work collaboratively with the community to find swift and effective solutions.
Sincerely, Someone who has been on the platform since 2009
If only, if only. The interests of larger, successful developers and Roblox themselves are more aligned. They’re both business oriented after all. Good luck convincing every top Roblox developer to risk their livelihood to protest something that doesn’t really affect them all that much. Its easy for us to get mad because development is our passion. For them, its their livelihood.
A story of the not so distant future for you roblox
Once upon a time, in the enchanting realm of Roblox, a long-awaited update was on the horizon. The community brimmed with anticipation, eagerly awaiting the promised enhancements and features that had been teased by the staff.
As the fateful day arrived, players logged into their accounts with high hopes and dreams of what was to come. However, instead of the wondrous update they had envisioned, they were met with a sea of disappointment. Glitches and errors plagued the platform, and beloved features were altered in baffling ways.
Confusion and frustration swept through the player base like a tidal wave. They took to forums and social media, voicing their discontent, seeking answers, and demanding accountability. It was evident that something had gone terribly wrong, and fingers were pointed at the staff responsible for the update.
Players felt let down and betrayed, as if the promises made had been mere illusions to keep them hooked. The once-trusted creators were now facing a torrent of criticism from the very community they were meant to serve.
As the uproar continued, the staff initially responded with silence, further fueling the anger of the players. The lack of communication and acknowledgment only intensified the feeling that the staff was indifferent to their pain and suffering.
Many players began to question the decision-making process behind the update. It became evident that there was a lack of understanding of the community’s needs and desires, leading to this disastrous outcome. The staff’s inability to empathize with the player base amplified the growing perception that they were out of touch with their own creation.
As the days went by, the negative impact of the update on Roblox’s reputation and bottom line became apparent. User engagement declined significantly, and loyal players began to explore other gaming avenues, disillusioned by the once-beloved platform.
Yet, amidst the chaos and frustration, there remained a glimmer of hope. Some members of the staff recognized their mistakes and started actively engaging with the community. They listened to the feedback, acknowledged the errors, and took responsibility for their actions.
In time, this openness and willingness to make amends began to heal the rift between the staff and the players. A newfound sense of transparency and humility restored some of the trust that had been lost.
As the days turned into weeks, Roblox underwent a transformation. The staff, now more attuned to the community’s desires, worked collaboratively with players to address the issues and improve the platform. Slowly but surely, the virtual universe began to regain its former allure.
The tale of this disastrous update served as a poignant lesson for both the staff and the community. It was a reminder that open communication, empathy, and genuine understanding were the pillars upon which a thriving virtual world was built.
And so, the story of the unfortunate update faded into history, replaced by a renewed sense of unity between the players and the staff, ensuring that Roblox continued to flourish as a place where dreams and creativity knew no bounds.
look man i know your upset but david basucki is not gonna read this and have a change of heart
I love story time! You know, I think this is fairly realistic and I see it in a distant future… Maybe there’s a bigger picture to the moral of the story here!
Very true.
My passions have moved to an alternative engine, and honestly I haven’t been any better.
The things I create are concrete, permanent, almost etched in stone. The effects are more vivid, the experience more optimized, I could drone on and on about how much better the experience is off-platform as a developer.
Roblox is nasty with code-rot, and lots of ancient classes like Humanoids get about as much address as the community backlash seen here.
This astro-turf nonsense is exactly what alienates quality membership.
I feel like I should move to a different platform and leave Roblox for good at this point. I feel disrespected to be honest. I’ve spent so much time on this platform playing games, buying items, and engaging with the community, and it feels like Roblox hates me for that
Whoops i edited this wrong
They even are slightly racist, they banned my friend for making his avatar Brown, I dont see the point in Roblox being a “super awesome” and “vibe” company.
If your gonna leave Roblox, i’m going with you. This platform is a direct mess and has to be cleaned up. Because I can’t take this anymore.
I hope they ban Stevie Standard for good, this isn’t minecraft
Roblox we dont care about your faces alot of people are mad
Imagine investing six years into an attempt at a single-player game, only for it to decay with each week’s new update.
Yeah, the rat race wasn’t a pick-a-nick.
Besides, this platform isn’t geared towards earnest games - it’s for fleecing children of their virtual allowance in exchange for sweet-nothings.
It used to be a cute platform with tons of neat recreations of existing properties or game modes on other, popular games. They only optimized it to make money off of hard-working minors and young adults who don’t know what real game development is like.
Try using Blender, learn a new programming language - try something besides Roblox, it’s much more rewarding, permanent, meaningful than anything you could do on Roblox. Genuinely.
Edit: You simply can’t ignore how much better things are off-platform. Full creative control, full retention of intellectual property, permanence in compiling an executable instead of streaming legos and scripts… You can’t beat that.
Is Roblox really just going to sit here and watch their culture slowly die?
Yeah, they will. Because they don’t care about the culture, they want to sacrifice that for the metaverse. They think its going to boom and be the massive new thing, but lets look at what has happened to the industry in the past.
And to the surprise of literally no-one, after a lot of push back and valid concerns being aired, we are treated with the corporate middle finger.
Restricting customization by taking faces off sale kind of goes against that. You can’t just limit user options for customization and then say that the goal is for everyone to have the avatar they love. That’s just contradictory.
I get it that soon decal faces are going to be considered legacy. As Roblox evolves, changes will happen and I see the merit in animated faces. However, I see no point in taking the classic faces off sale when labeling it as legacy would suffice. It’s the same deal with countless other legacy features millions use (R6, clothing, etc.) to this very day.
Hm… maybe this might be a tough pill to swallow, but maybe don’t phase out existing features in favor of an incomplete update? This is literally the same deal with the Talent Hub replacing the collaboration category despite the former having countless missing features and other problems initially.
Ah yes, take a product that people have traded for/purchased and forcefully change their design all of the sudden… yikes. Further goes to show how out of touch the corporation is with the community. Can’t be surprised though, it’s been like that since the dawn of Roblox
actually, this is process known as ens###tification, where an online platform sacrifices it’s community for its business partners, and then ultimately it’s business partners for money, leading to its death. it happened to myspace, and it’s happening to Twitter and Roblox.
