We’re updating Heads!

can we skip to the part where r6 and blocky avatars are removed so we can leave roblox already

I really agree with this. Recently, I’ve taken the time to learn Unity and C# and overall I feel like I have more freedom and way more motivation to actually make games.

Roblox being gentrified and bastardized into something unlike itself is a thing everybody needs to get used to, because they’re uncaring and would rather see their profits rise.

Either you accept that Roblox is already dead in the water, or you continue to put your time and energy (which you have a limited amount of in this life) into a children’s lego game with no reward for most of the participants in the rat-race for the front page.

I truly hope I’m just daydreaming, as this, this is the point of no return for Roblox, this is where they choose:
To stay up and survive, or
Die

Don’t get it twisted. This change will not kill Roblox. what will kill Roblox is the eventual selling out of its business partners for money. they’ve already done this to their community, and they’ll soon do it to the people keeping them growing. when that happens, Roblox will implode. this is how online platforms work under capitalism, we’ve seen it before

Dont forget anyone wearing classic stuff gets banned so their stock, my years of playing roblox, my group, my entire happiness at roblox is gone! Oh yeah and their entire player base so only people who are mad are gonna raid the mod discussionhub
Seriously though dynamic faces are garbage, what’s up with the thin lining?

the amount of people that wont know this is a joke :skull:

That’s what I mean as this is the first step, they keep going, they’re never going back

Seriously?!

the first step was years ago. This is just the beginning of the end

also people who wear classic stuff do not get banned. That’s misinformation

I don’t know about years ago, yes, this is the beginning of the end, the beginning of the beginning of the end was years ago

Just wanted to be sure, you never know with Roblox

like I said, ensh##tification is a natural process for all online platforms under capitalism. it became apparent this was going to happen to Roblox years ago, but they are beginning to restrict features from consumers, which is when a company officially starts to consume itself. See here: Twitter

If they were going to shove it down our throats they wouldn’t ban, that would just lead to even further consequences for them, they would just remove classic faces all together.

Right, I guess the only thing we can do is stay here and watch, we can’t do anything about it, just like we can’t do anything about the sun rising and setting

And folks, don’t mistake this as a bunch of old farts saying “muh nostalgia!”

This simply isn’t the whole truth here. People just care about how the platform is being treated, and if it’s being treated like a cash cow, then of course people will make a big stink about it. Some of us grew up with Roblox, and some of us have gotten older and wiser - wise enough to see things for what they truly are. Of course people who know better will outwardly contest this.

Our bitterness towards these updates are not unwarranted, they are not from a minority, and there will be consequences for the continued treatment the platform receives from its proprietors.

Don’t worry, it was already planned, planning to move onto good ol’ Unreal Engine 5

Always has been

Anyway, I think I won’t reply anymore, I don’t want to get in trouble and I’ll probably just sit here and watch

yessir

unreal is looking AMAZING nowadays

I think that’s going to be hard, considering the broader development community (their life-blood), and the corporation itself is parasitic. Some people do not want to break the community bonds (or quit working on projects, especially if they make a living off of it), even if the corporation consistently disrespects the community like that.

Watch. Just watch. Roblox will either make another hollow promise to work with the community on these changes and raise everyone’s hopes up, or outrage will dwindle as we get new features on the website or engine (This is not to diss the hardworking engineers working on them. They most likely have no say in this). Rinse and repeat; it’s an endless cycle, sadly.

This is the most out of touch post I have ever seen from Roblox and that’s saying a lot
