Weapon skin problem

So I’ve got a texture that I want to then apply to a gun mesh, I am doing this because instead of 4 sides of textures it can be simplified to just setting a gun’s mesh to the texture, but when I do with for example camo I just get 1 base color than all detail on it as well:

the gun model most likely isn’t uv unwrapped, or is too tiny on the uv texture/layout thing which causes it to be one solid color. Try UV unwrapping it in blender and making the geometry in the UV editor adequate size.

In addition, I would highly recommend browsing the forum posts here as they have helped me tremendously with UV wrapping.
