New AI Tools

[Beta] Introducing Text Generation API

  • We’re launching the beta release of the Text Generation API, a highly requested feature that opens up new interactive possibilities for your users to try in your experiences, such as NPC dialogue.
  • This API is powered by an open-source LLM with Roblox enhancements, enabling you to implement various text-based AI features within your experiences.

[Beta] Cube 3D Generation Tools and APIs for Creators

  • We’re introducing our Cube 3D model, along with the beta of Mesh Generation API for text-to-3D mesh generation.
  • Think of generative AI as your copilot helping you iterate prototypes and concept art or props quickly, so you can focus on the creative, meaningful side of world-building.
  • Beyond aiding your creation, our mesh generation API also lets your users create personalized items in-experience in real time, unlocking higher engagement.

Studio Updates

Assistant Updates: Giving you more control of Assistant

  • We’re committed to making it a useful resource in Studio with you in the driver’s seat, designed to accelerate your productivity and enhance your overall experience.
  • Typing /generate followed by a prompt in Assistant allows you to use Cube 3D’s generative mesh capabilities, and insert generated objects into your experience in Studio.
  • You can now review the changes that it makes to scripts before they’re applied, undo/redo changes that Assistant makes with the standard cmd+z /cmd+shift+z hotkeys, and edit previous prompts.
  • Assistant now has a script debugging capability!

New & Upcoming Studio Updates: Performance, Customization, Collaboration

  • Our latest Studio features deliver a more intuitive and easy-to-use experience, designed to feel familiar to both longtime creators and those new to the platform.
  • Our upcoming improvements include:
    • More Studio UI updates (available now)
    • Next Gen Explorer (coming in the next few weeks)
    • Comments and Annotations (coming in the next few weeks)

The Text Generation API is interesting, but it does seem hard to make sure the NPC’s character lore doesn’t go out of context.

ngl this kind of a mid/10 week, would like to see some updates to like in engine features like particles, terrain grass, or maybe even clouds

Both the added tools require ID verification (which isn’t disclosed for the latter despite needing it), and this whole week was seemingly spent on nothing but AI (and a roadmap that doesn’t actually solve discoverability issues)

Then propose your discoverability changes / ideas. I simply wish for personal customization to the algorithm, like YouTube, and a potential sort for “New To You” that are all games outside your immediate interests.

I would do so but feature requests aren’t really considered anymore on a consistent level and I don’t think they’re accepting people rn
