Hardware and poison bans are similar, but they affect more than just IP addresses. I do not believe Roblox would be able to assure that an IP ban will work. Also, they only IP ban users who are breaching the site.

This is a great addition! I have one question though… will devs have to implement this or will it be standard in Roblox games everywhere? (just like the chat system, for example)

Shaders can have a huge advantage in certain games. I recently watched a YouTube video where someone was using shaders in DOORS. He was able to manipulate the lighting in such a way to where it negated the need for a flashlight. Totally by-passing certain gameplay aspects. I personally think they should be banned.

Like most things rolled out I think this is a great addition so long as it’s optional.
Hi, so i havent read the entire 367 post topic but this was probably already mentioned BUT ‘alt-account detection’ what does this mean for shared alt accounts, or maybe accounts you may use as group management.

To add to that:
I share a household with my 10-year-old brother. We don’t share pcs but we do share the same wifi connection. Does that mean my accounts would be logged as alts of his or vice versa? If he were to download an exploit would my accounts also be moderated? I don’t want the responsibility of monitoring what programs he downloads on his PC.

You should not worry about if you are not exploiting.
If you don’t share PCs your brother wont get banned probably, correct me if I’m wrong but I think they ban your PC from the game, not your entire wifi connection.

Yeah and you’re not the only case, I’m very sure we can acknowledge that a lot of us have siblings from very early age to adult level and especially with Roblox’ audience, this for sure can cause more harm than good.
People have to acknowledge this, and I believe Roblox shouldn’t limit how many accounts one can create on this platform. I don’t even think they should provide tools considering that all methods ranging from IPs to HWIDs/MAC addresses are unreliable due to how easy it is to just spoof them ( and anyone bringing up ID verification - hell no, you’d really expect everyone to go under that verification? lol )
Overall they shouldn’t bother circumventing alt accounts given the valid reasons.
Instead, focus should be more towards something like the CoreGUI or an anti injection system.

nah there’s more to it ( HWID ban ) , like changing your serial number of all your devices and hardware connected, and clearing all roblox related data & cache on your computer, changing your GUID/registry keys, then pairing it with a VPN preferably a paid one
Tho I’m afraid it’s even more complicated than the aspects above as Roblox could potentially read way more data than above from your hardware/pc to get an unique fingerprint of your device, so they ultimately still have a way to identify your device
What, they really said that? There is no way they will just disregard the whole Linux community on Roblox and just tell us “Tuff.”

As a developer I’m incredibly happy at this news, the exploiting and hacking on Roblox has been one of my main concerns and I’m glad Roblox is moving in this direction. Excited to see what is in store for Byfron and Roblox.
what kind of exploits will hopefully be patched?

Will this provide dos/ddos mitigation? I believe there is a private program for this that developers like cryogenix have access to. I would really like this.
I’m really glad that Roblox is starting to listen to the community, this is something developers have been begging for. I only have ONE concern, will this affect admin systems? The anit-cheat may detect that someone is flying or exceeding the average player speed limit, and I worry that this system will think that they are exploiting. So hopefully there is a setting system that will let us choose whether this affects some players.
