What are you working on currently? [2016]

7 hours later… still working!

CTF gamemode + more camera manipulation. Probably going to finish the shop and inventory tomorrow and I’ll be done. finally

I would suggest skipping away the borders on those buttons and go with some shadowing behind the buttons rather - it feels quite old to see buttons with 1-pixel borders, but perhaps that’s just my view on the situation.

Will anything happen to the use of Hints (black bar with white text at the very top)?

Not just fixed, completely rewritten.

Took apart my triangle map maker for The Conquerors 3 and rebuilt it to be a proper map maker(not designed specifically for my game)

It has triangle terrain, fences, tree clumps(put down a node, decide its size, and it’ll create trees within its radius)

And all of this updates when you change the terrain below it
Flat:

After changingterrain and fences/trees automatically adjusting

The whole preview took 30 seconds to make.

Next are paths that hug the terrain so you can have rectangle paths that don’t look like land bridges, and then building foundation placements, and then maybe stuff like train tracks. All auto updating on the terrain of course.

that’s pretty good.
some movement of the upper body when he’s walking would seem good.
but then again, last time i tried to animate, it was an unholy mess

Those reflections on the floor`???

Hyper-optimized studio cache’d GUI’s that use specular mapping and Surface paramounts to give the illusion of reflection.

He flippy the map up-side-down and made the floor c thru.

It’s the M1 Abrams S.

Thinner and more power efficient than the regular M1 Abrams.

You win this round… @ScriptOn

Update on my map builder

This entire map was drawn in 5 minutes. All parts(fences, walls, light pole, paths, trees) auto update to fit the terrain altitude. The trees are generated from large circles(currently invisible), not placed individually :stuck_out_tongue: (although individual placement also exists)

Next: Train tracks, bushes. What else?

I’ve been meaning to make a plugin where you click on something and little grass spawns.

The longer you hold your mouse for the more it develops. Little grass turns into tall grass, small pebbles, larger rocks, flowers, small trees, large trees, etc…

It’d use perlin noise to generate pretty patterns and such. The only reason I haven’t made it yet is because of how much I hate the current plugin workflow. We have to use plugins to develop more plugins easily, wtf?

I know I HATE making this plugin. I miss roblox’s script analysis so much. I imagine it’s possible to make a barebones plugin and then run all the functions on modules so you never have to restart the place to refresh the plugin. I use some modules to swap out the create fence/path/trees script without restarting.

I made a perfectly-bending arm/leg in Blender:

Gets weird when you rotate it beyond 90 degrees, though.

Yeah.

You should take my idea, I think it’d make your system even better.
