More random maze stuff. This one I’ve made customisable, so I can use it as a framework to generate any biome I want.
Made a solar farm.
If you want to check it out.
Also, I submitted these (and more) solar panels for model endorsement thing.
I’ve thought and studied what works and doesn’t work in an MMO. The examples you and @EchoReaper gave are at core singleplayer games - where that sort of combat works well.
If I were to try what you’re suggesting, the result would be more like The Elder Scrolls: Online, where I did not find the combat to be any better. It just felt more like they tried tacking a traditional MMO on top of Skyrim. Which is funny because I remember Legacy Alpha had comparisons to Skyrim.
I’ve been working on getting my computer fixed. I recently moved about 1200 miles west and now it’s not outputting video.
very close to just saying “**** it” and taking it to a professional :T
Another SBS skill improvement: the Stealth Mine skill used to just drop a transparent mine that activated when another player walked over it. Now, you can place it, then detonate it whenever you want. I also redid the sound effects a bit. The new utility it has also lets you be creative with it; you can wait for multiple players to approach it, or you can stand on it and detonate it for a classic bomb-jump maneuver.
I’ve been completely re-doing Super Bomb Survival’s skills lately, making each of them more unique, balanced, & fun to use.
Please let players use it to rocket-jump themselves.
DId you watch the video/read the post? :B
Skip to :24 if you wanna see it
On mobile the video scrolls up and disappears for some reason D:
One reason MMOs opt for the kind of gameplay they do, is to allow their architecture to scale well (complex dynamic fighting system that requires low latency doesnt really help there). Part of why they need that is to make sure nobody cheats (as everything is easy and cheap to check serverside). With some single player or small scale multiplayer game trusting the client here and there isnt usually too bad, but when you have a full on MMO, you just dont want to have to deal with that.
And because you cant make an MMO in roblox, thats not really a factor. So for some things it might be best to use a different solution than the big MMOs.
My game largely utilizes the server. Because it’s a Multiplayer RPG game, you don’t want people being able to cheat their items, stats, damage output etc. Over the years I’ve been able to make it have very little latency - especially since I have to deal with ROBLOX servers having 300ms ping for me in New Zealand.
You mean you can’t. You underestimate ROBLOX. I’m just over a month out from release day. Two years of on-and-off work will have paid off.
If you do some crazy realtime datastore communication between each server instance, and it gets on the front page with few thousand online, maybe, but its not really “massive”. So you can still do expensive and complex realtime stuff on the server (3D physics!) and not worry about it too much (which is why you should consider having such features - the big MMOs dont have them simply because it doesnt work well at such large scale).
That car unlock sound effect is just perfect
I’ve been experiencing this with desktop Chrome. I thought it was an extension issue, but maybe that’s not the case. Anyone else having this issue?
(btw, it doesn’t disappear – you just have to scroll back down)
Yeah, cant fullscreen videos or it messes up (dekstop chrome also)
Just tested on desktop Firefox and didn’t have any issues. I recently switched over to Chrome (yesterday actually), so I don’t have much of an idea of how long this has been going on for Chrome users.
Questions for anyone who uses Chrome:
- Are you not experiencing this? If you’re not, what version of Chrome do you have installed, and which extensions are you running?
- How long has this been happening to you? It could be related to the update that added the scroller to the right of posts
Has been like this since we moved to this forum
The Discourse staff has already noticed the bug though
Really nice design! work on the handle a little bit though?
