What are you working on currently? (2017)

well… idk. i’ve been doing suit lapels for so long i don’t really think about it.
but here goes…

EDIT: it’s best to have reference images.
i used the video game Sleeping Dogs(2014), because i got a good 360 view in good lighting.

lots a pics

first, select the part of the jacket that folds to become the lapel, duplicate, and separate it from the mesh (for ease of selection)

next, extrude up and outwards, but keep the bottom face a triangle.

then extrude back down. adjust mesh so it looks like it’s resting on the jacket, but keep it above by a tiny bit.

add a small split

select the whole thing you just made. press Space, and type in “solidify”, set to about 0.025

finished product

i think i had the lapels start a bit too high up on this one, but either way…
tada!

Thank you, will start experimenting when I get back home!

Meh, I tried. Making this pose just points out a lot of flaws in my rig/animation setup.

Spent all day working today. Here’s what I’ve got!

Decided to go with a taskbar-style menu where your menu interface is made up of ‘windows’ where you can easily switch between stuff:

Camos from crates now award skins as well, they also now save/load using datastores and load through GUI on the client:

with little hints in case you’re a new player and happen to mouse over

Working on sorting by name, date received, type, and tier, as well as combining duplicate camos/skins and the option to type in the name of something and search for it (by gun or by name of camo/skin) tomorrow.

In the meantime, I managed to add and try on skins in the actual game:

Got any plans for adding a Star Wars camo just for the fun of it?

@GuestCapone It’s a Space VFX course for Blender that costs only $60. It recently got released and it’s made by one of my favorite Blender artists, Gleb Alexandrov. It provides you with over 12 hours of video content and it teaches you incredible stuff.

I highly recommend watching the promo and consider buying it yourselves. I’m currently at part 3 out of 22 and i’ve already learned so much.

It’s meant to reflect the 2009 building style; hence the studs, single increments and general style of the game.

If you’ve played any of Vikatikki’s games you’ll get what I mean!

In general, studs are used for walkable surfaces, with smooth tops used to distinguish areas that are of a different material or purpose.

Directional buttons?

I don’t follow :0

Noted
@idonthaveause

I think he’s referring to using WASD, Arrow keys, your numpad, or maybe some type of GUI that is visually similar to a DPAD and allows you to choose the direction of the flow of magic.

Any Fallout Fans?

I started making a RobCo Terminal GUI system

It’s still a work in progress but whatcha guys/gals think?

Are you using the new GridLayouts? I think you can easily change how the grid is sorted. This gave me and idea for sorting options for my game.

Does 2 GTX 1080 STRIX work? :stuck_out_tongue:

What do you mean

@FierceByte
I just code it. It’s like 5 lines of fairly short code.

Oh, well I’m not a very good scripter, but I have confidence that my scripter could make something.

I’d say that could either become a really cute or really terrifying character based on what colors you apply, especially on the face with those big eyes
