What are you working on currently? (2017)

Yep, thankfully this isn’t the actual coloring, I’m just using solid colors and not a UV map (because its not finished) but hey it looks gr8 so far and its still under 10,000 polygons. ^w^

Sounds like a plan

Uhhh… I’ve got two :stuck_out_tongue:

Finished making a complete Trello board for Authority FPS’s update list until we can make a FOR-SURE public Alpha, has 20 or so items needing to be finished. I don’t suppose anyone would be interested if i posted that link? If you’re thinking about participating in closed Alpha testing me and @TrustMeImRussian would appreciate it.

Welcome back to another installment of “I’m really obsessed with Zootopia”.

I finally filled in the last cubby behind the bar. Something I should have done a long time ago.

Also, more wall art and some wainscoting along the side.

Looks so much like the actual game that CNN will report it as Russian.

I like it a lot.
But the clicking noise is very, very loud. Maybe that’s just me.

Remember those sidebar things that I said I’d hide because I wasn’t using them yet?
This is what they’re for: sorry for meh quality video

I’m getting ever closer to adding real multiplayer to Sound Volblox.

The juicy details

I currently have:

  • Live score tracking for all players in a match
  • Messaging before a match starts
  • Players can join a match anytime during the waiting period
  • Songs/difficulties are locked in, you can’t leave the lobby unless you quit the game

I still need to work on:

  • Rival scores need to use a monospace font, because that movement bothers the hell outta me and probably a lot of other people
  • Messaging after a song is over
  • Matchmaker breaking if a player leaves mid-song instead of retiring normally (hold Enter)
  • Rank numbers don’t do anything yet
  • Player name TextLabels don’t do anything yet
  • On the Message Time screen, opponent difficulty TextLabel doesn’t like to update depending on join order

It’s all coming together nicely, and I’d like to be done with this by the end of the week so I can focus on more aspects of the game.

My previous suggestion wasn’t an actual good one, so I won’t bother explaining it much. Basically, you use directional keys to select the next symbol/rune you want to “combine” in your spell. This is of course if I understand your system correctly.

Thinking about it more, your mouse selection system is very plausible for computers. It’s just that you don’t see it often and I jumped on the fact that it wouldn’t work. Another reason why I originally said no was because I want to solo as a mage (and the amount of symbol for one fire ball was quite long), but mages aren’t really meant to solo. They more charge up then attack with very powerful spells, being supported by warriors and tanks.

I suppose you could add a way to still allow players to solo, and that is once a spell has been mastered, you can put it as a hotkey to quickly cast the spell (for small spells only. Bigger spells that deal massive damage always need runes.)

Anyways, wish you luck!

(Got a 505 while trying to post this, hopefully this doesn’t get duplicated)

@GregTame and/or @maplestick, is there any way to bake materials into a texture?

I’ve been working on a method of “streaming” blocks. I figure that’s the best word to describe what it is I am doing. Basically, I split the layout of TNT blocks into layers, then I split each layer up into regions. Then I hand off all the region data to the client and the client then constantly checks if each valid region (meaning each region with at least half the maximum possible blocks that can fill inside the region) is visible on your screen and if it’s occluded by something. I’m still working on making it run smoothly as well as making it as seamless as possible. Currently it does improve performance slightly. Although I think it would be most beneficial for those who don’t have that great of a computer. It could be of good use in a potential “low lag” option. Hopefully It’s not too obvious what game I’m working on. :^P

Here’s a video demo of it in action!

Note: The hole in the middle is invisible blocks so you can see the occlusion in action.

I was bored and decided my in-game banning effects needed an update. Witness the firepower of this fully operational battle station!

Only if you’re a tester, which I believe I made all RBXDev members in the group testers; if you aren’t in the group, let me know so I can make you a tester.
Also, using the autoplay feature (press T during a song to toggle) invalidates your score, but it’s hella fun to watch

Wanted to do some websity stuff, so I added a visualization to the purchasing times on my userasset-record-viewer-thingy:

It’s ugly, but it sure beats looking through this:
