I often somehow happen to include smiley faces in the terrain when building large maps. Call them creepy if you want. This is because I sometimes feel a bit lonely. My timezone is very different to the other developers in the team for project Ilum, so I’m often in studio alone. I’ve only included things I’ve built in these three screenshots.
An automatically-growing pyramid thing (Epilepsy warning for the video)
The Scripting
I scripted this to make it customizable: You can customize how quickly the pyramid shrinks (I know it’s not really a pyramid, but I really have no name for it). You can customize the speed which it grows, make the colors a gradient, etc. The best part is that I can make it any size I want. I’m going to be honest, it’s not that hard to script, but it’s tons of fun.
Also, it makes a funky optical illusion if you look at it the right way.
I’ve been building on roblox for a few years now, I’ve developed a wide range of styles and skills over time and I’d like you show you some of them, enjoy!
Me and EinKleiner have been working on a project off and on for over year now together. Fingers crossed we keep up the pace for a summer launch time! Here are two screenshots of parts of the map.
Hey guys, my first post on this thread!
Currently building a cafe for a group with 2K+ members that I’m a builder in. Here are some sick 720p screenshots of what I’m building. It features:
I just tried your idea with my ceiling, and I thought it looked really nice! I think I went a bit too over-the-top with the lighting but I decreased the exposure so that your eyes wouldn’t die. I can’t really do anything else with the ceiling because it’s a union but maybe I’ll separate it and try to do more with it.
It looks good, but you could always work with using some negative parts since you’re using a union for the ceiling, unless if it’s like less than 1-2 studs thickness.
Otherwise, it looks really cool with those parts of the ceiling on.
I thought it was too small to be a restaurant and decided on calling it a cafe, but yeah it kind of does look like a restaurant. I’ve added more detail to the ceiling after I took those screenshots, but thank you for the feedback!
It looks great, but legacy is being phased out so I would be focusing on using voxel lighting: especially considering that phase two is due to release very soon.
