What are you working on currently? (2021)

Me and some friends are currently working on reviving some of the original roblox games. Thanks to all of the original roblox developers, I hope we will be able to bring back many original/old roblox games for the next generation to enjoy.

I tried out animation.
Because I like to do flips in my freetime I made a front flip animation. The first one an on trampoline front flip and the other is an on ground front flip.

People seem to really like the previous video I posted, so here’s another quick video that shows off more of the game’s progress so far!

EDIT: Forgot to mention that this is all publicly viewable at the moment. You can test it for yourself here.

Yeah I would’ve made it actual jello but I don’t understand skinned meshes.

Crazed, ray tracing is just the concept of manipulating pixel color by casting rays throughout that pixel. If that means seeing if that intersection point is in shadow then it is considered a ray tracer.

Please take this to DMs. This is off topic and is derailing the thread.

Crazed we dont just create everything from shader code. You have this model which is rasterized then you manipulate the color by ray tracing it. All rasterization can do is tell you what it is. (The normal of the intersection of the current pixel and the position of the intersection point, if it did at all)To add lighting, say specular lighting where you shade according to the angle of the vector formed from the light source to the intersection point and the scatter ray formed from the reflection of the normal ray and the primary/incident ray

Shadows are created by seeing if this light ray intersects with anything. If it does then for hard shadows atleast we just make it black. Ray tracing is a technique which is fundamental in creating lights, shadows for video games

The vertex shader is what roblox does in a sense and the fragment shader is what he did. Since he used rays to shade its raytracing

Just don’t get how people do it, it just amazes me.

Revamped my interactive map hander I made a while ago. This includes map zooming + scrolling, more effects, rendered map, new text waypoint thingy, and bunch of fixes and organization. Spent quite a bit on it but turned out well

definitely gonna try this out, it looks like something I might find on steam.

Don’t expect too much! Still very much under development. Many core systems aren’t finished yet.
