Another update on my horror survival game “Midnight Strikes”, with new UI, bossfights, killers, maps, voting, etc.
Working on a VERY complex singleplayer game, the concept i’ve got is kind of a frankenstein between halo: reach and decaying winter lmao
holy crap that’s cool, only critique is try and add some leg animation for the combo attack
Working on a possible open world flight simulator. I currently have a script generating airports using API data found on OpenStreetMap. I am working on generating terrain, but I haven’t touched on making working aircraft.
Right now I’m working on my game’s title screen and picking out a soundtrack for it.
The former is going well, but for the latter… is it just me, or does Roblox’s stock audio library completely lack good boss music? I do have this, but I’m going to need more than that.
A cool theme park game (cyberpunk themed! :0 )
would it have realistic flight physics?
With all of my recent posts and activity relating to pianos and instruments in general, I’ve returned to a sort of old model, which I started…a while ago, but have returned to continue making today! Back before the Roblox experience, this was going to be Mary (my avatar, or “me”, I guess)'s special item, which she would play a short song using to transform into her magical girl form.
This is… 𝓜𝓪𝓻𝔂’𝓼 𝓟𝓲𝓪𝓷𝓸!
Well, that was its original purpose, but that never happened. I think it could be salvaged for Project Magical Mary, though! It’s way too detailed for Roblox at the moment (100k+ polygons) and would be heavily simplified to work without causing potential slowdown. Most of these polygons come from its unnecessarily complex interior, which has fully modeled strings and hammers, which were set up so they moved in sync with the piano’s keys, since it was originally designed to appear in a “magical girl transformation sequence”.
Though I hope to import the whole piano into my experience, I mainly want to import its 49 keys (yep, this piano is what inspired my script to support 4 octaves) as a skinned mesh, which my instrument script would move the bones of based on keypresses (which is like what the pianos do at Royale High’s Campus 2).
Any piano-like instrument could reuse this keyboard mesh, including “musical keyboards”! What do you think about this 3D model?
Also, this reminds me of @irongiant45’s post about their piano model (which still looks really good)! I wonder if there’s been any progress since that post.
This is amazing. You did a fantastic job modeling the piano, and it’s so cool that you implemented the strings as well! Sadly though, I have not worked on my piano since that post. (Or at least that much.) The reason being is that my computer can’t handle it. Mainly because of all 88 keys. It freezes and crashes every time I put any sort of texture on the piano, and it was pretty hard in general to even get that screenshot, as it kept crashing every time I loaded the keys. I’ve been saving up for a better computer to run blender better, and then hopefully I will be able to finish my piano.
Thank you! I probably shouldn’t have put all of that detail into that piano, but it seems that once I start adding details, I can’t stop myself. (Also, I prefer more detail over the “low-poly simulator” modelling style, so I guess that makes me want to make my models detailed and somewhat believable, sort of like your detailed piano!)
Oh no…! That’s a shame; I wouldn’t like it if my computer couldn’t handle one of my 3D models. Also, whoa, 88 keys! That’s almost double how many keys that my piano has; Is that 7 octaves or something? My actual keyboard (the Yamaha PSR-E413) only has 5 octaves.
I hope you can get a new computer so you can use that piano model for something.
Also, I’ve imported the keyboard skinned mesh into my baseplate; The piano that it came from won’t be ready for…who knows how long, but this part’s meant to be used by itself, so I went ahead and added it.
It’s just below 3,000 polygons, which isn’t good, but I wanted to include the beveled edges, including those under the white keys.
It’s rigged, too; Each key has a bone, named a number between 1 and 49; It’s meant to match the “note numbers” used by the instrument script, which are also 1-49, so it could easily get a reference to the bone then animate it by rotating the bone using a tween.
May I ask where you got your grass texture from, I’m struggling to find the right one for my game?
Working on death screen for my upcoming game Frontier 2086
Hi!
I’m currently working on my new game,BloxPeak.
The game is already released and can be played but I still work on updates and fixes.
Anyways,I hope I will build a community
I still need to make the ui better and I plan an item system that will allow you to place things to help you in-game.
