When replies are split, the admin shows as the most recent poster

When an admin splits replies away from a thread for whatever reason, that admin shows up as the Most Recent Poster (when they are not, new replies have been made since their split).

I first noticed this December 13, 2020 at 1:09PM EST.

I can’t check if this happens with other topics because I don’t know of any other topics with a split portion.

How to reproduce: view the Forum Features listings, find “Put edit time restrictions on replies to announcements”, then see Ward off unwanted responses on announcements (e.g. posting for the sake of posting) - #20 and Ward off unwanted responses on announcements (e.g. posting for the sake of posting) - #30 by incapaz

It’s not a bug, it’s how discourse works. Technically they are replying to the thread, just for merging things or whatever admin tool they are using. This happens every time when they do an action like closing, unposting, merging, etc.

No, click the link. It says they are the most recent poster when there are multiple new replies past it.

This is unusual, however it’s not a bug on the DevForum’s end.

UPDATE: The bug seems to be fixed, I’m convinced that this was possibly something else happening.
