"Where Does this Go?" | The New Member Problem

@yut556 Yeah, but still some people don’t know how to read advanced words. Again, (I do) but i am talking for the younger people.

Only 13+ can get into the dev forums… I’m pretty sure if even a 9-year-old gets in they can read all the stuff… people under 13/<13 are not able to post.

@starmaq I didn’t go into to much detail on that example but I was talking about Questions that aren’t Directly related to Development (But still some what relate to it).

Be sure that anything you can think of already exists, we have #help-and-feedback:building-support, #help-and-feedback:game-design-support, #discussion to talk about trivial stuff that doesn’t directly relate to developing. I can’t think of anything else.

@yut556 True, a lot of people have their account age up a lot so they aren’t limited on everything. There are ways to sneak into the devforum and people do it all the time.

I asked this question a while back.

@starmaq I mean for newer people who don’t know about all that yet. They should at least make it easier for us.

FYI you don’t need to @ someone at the start of each post when responding to them. They will get notified when you are replying directly to them.

The About post of each category tells you what you can post in each category. If your question doesn’t fit anywhere, that’s likely intended to avoid low-quality discussion. For example, the question “Do you have to be 13+ To get recruited for a project?” really doesn’t belong anywhere on here because you’re likely not going to get a conclusive or trustworthy answer – you should ask a lawyer that question or at least someone that is more trustworthy on legal questions than random people on this forum.

General Roblox questions that are not related to development should not be posted on the Developer Forum. Use another medium for that e.g. social media.

We have been thinking about a “Roblox/Studio How-To” category under Help and Feedback for workflow questions related to the website/Studio but no promises on that.

@sjr04 It was only an example

The only way to sneak in the dev forum is fake your age. People do it all the time but… it doesn’t matter much, but they shouldn’t be on here if they can’t read something lets say a 9-year-old can read. We are trying to say the Dev Forums aren’t supported to kids under 13/<13

@buildthomas First, the reason i do that is because of how many people are posting right now, and I mean Not Directly related, but still sort of related.

Now some people who are 13+ might not be able to read “Advanced Language” but that’s pretty rare to see.

Please stop, it’s clutter. :slightly_smiling_face:

@yut556 Those are the people i am talking about in this post.

Sorry, i just find it easier for people to tell that way.

Well you’re not going to find those here really…

Sometimes you will. People from all over the world play Roblox

I still have some problems to, but when I first joined people came to me and I needed alot of help, now I know where to go post my stuff in the right place, if it wasn’t for them I would have been leaving devforums but now I now where stuff can be. Its always about what your needing, you see if you have some questions that need to go in a new category think about where it should be first, Like say you wanna make a game and you need some help go to #collaboration section and check out what to do there. Its just a example for where you should start something off, It give you some hints of the text of what you need to do so your post won’t be flagged.

I know but all the dev forum is reading… If they can’t read advanced language and this might sound offensive then don’t use Dev Forums… It’s not cut out for them.
