Hello! Which grass do you think I should use for a low poly simulator map?
Well, I mean… let me ask you what do you think is the best choice here the one that looks like a plant or the one that looks like you just places blocks?
In my opinion you should use first one.
It’s called voxel style!
Sorry I was not trying to be rude but you should do the first one it looks like you spent time on it than the second one.
In my opinion you should use the more realistic grass (even though your game is low poly). If you did really want to use the voxel grass, you should still try to make it more detailed (by first making it slightly thinner, and making more of the pieces for variety).
I would stay away from using parts for anything like grass. You will reach a 10k part count in no time because of it alone. Learn how to use blender or any other 3D software and make some simple meshes.
As for the style, voxel grass always annoyed me as it looks more like cacti, so definitely the left.
Edit: Looking at it again, it looks like a mesh, but what’s with those gaps?
I think you would benefit by using the first one. It’s a lot more realistic, and is amazing!
I know Blender and it is a mesh. Both of them.
Although the realistic one looks better the realistic grass looks weirder with the style in my opinion, so I think I might use voxel or none at all. Thank you for your comments!
If you are using the second one I recommend you to change the size of it. Currently it looks like 3 green blocks.
I’m gonna make it thinner and longer and just more detail overall.
You should use the first one, but I think you should consider meshing it in Blender by simply importing it to the software and back, should help with some optimization.
