Most likely, because of the bugs, im walking around this house for literally 10 minutes and nothing happens
Just seeing the amount of bugs people are finding on this forum is also deterring me personally from playing.
Just cause it worked one place doesn’t mean it’ll work for all
Some do. Considering how so many youtubers are saying its bad every kid who likes said youtuber isn’t gonna like it
Also you shouldn’t be disagreeing with everyone, as the people seeing your game we can tell you exactly why its not doing well. And so far the majority says its the thumbnail so that is probably the case
Yours truly, Frodev
Here’s my experience, and I was not softlocked. It recorded very quietely for some reason, so ignore the audio in the video. I’ll tell you instead!
The music was very quiet, and the mute button is confusing as it doesn’t change when you click it. The button hover sound got pretty obnoxious.
This was a bug that I fixed 30mins ago, I did some changes and I will immediately start working on revamping the quests as many devs said.
I decided to change the thumbnails except for the icon which can barely be noticed to something related to the game’s idea.
You have to talk to the king in the over world, I can remove the teleporter after you finished the quest if it is confusing
In my opinion, some of the tasks are not very engaging. For example, there are things like “jump 3 times” which have no goal other than to move onto the next stage. But, I like the idea, and think that there is potential for improvement. For example, maybe you can have the play jump 3 times on glass to make it shatter and then fall into something. Or, when you have them climb the tower, you can have animate a flag raising on top of it to show why they’re supposed to climb up the tower.
I believe the game may be getting disliked due to it being misleading overall. It only takes less than 15 seconds for anyone to think that this game will be about them doing X and Y building, resource collecting or whatever else action more closely associated to building an empire only to nearly instantly find out that the game is something else entirely. The game getting systems more closely resembling anything to “building” and “resource management” way later is not a good thing to do either. You’re pretty much setting yourself to get disliked bombed as most people will believe they are getting scammed/clickbaited. Remember, most players (especially children) will not sit in your game for longer than a minute if by default it does not have the features/systems that they were expecting by default.
How can I make my low-poly look different nowadays, I saw the best modelers & builders make their low-poly and honestly it is really similar. My idea was to let the player do these simple tasks until the empire he has is upgradeable and then comes the resource-grinding. As for the thumbnails, they were AI generated but they didn’t send the message of what you would expect when entering or playing the game, I will just keep them like that for now until something good pops up in my mind, I will try not to spend more Robux if the game itself isn’t ready though
To anyone going to comment from now on, if there is anything left to discuss, I just wanted to let you know that the things I will be changing (in order) are quests, I will be making them more interesting, fun, and actually make them related to building an empire, Thumbnails will be changed when the game itself is ready & I will put more time into the updates that I have listed for the people who finished the starting quests which I will reduce the time they take by a lot. I have no problem discussing secondary things in the game that could be changed to the better
I have arrived at the airport task.
Let me just explain this rq.
You need 100 wood, iron and coal for it.
Theres trees all around this huge map.
You chop down a tree, you get A SINGULAR WOOD.
CHOPPING DOWN A SINGLE TREE TAKES ABOUT A SECOND. BUT TRAVERSING BETWEEN THEM? ABOUT 10 SECONDS.
That is about 20 minutes of useless wood chopping. I quit the moment i saw this.
Not to mention the iron and coal… Cant even imagine how long that would’ve taken.
So yeah, even if your players reach this point, not sure if theyre even going to continue.
I am pretty sure the game keeps reminding you that you can upgrade your tools, right?
I have seen this. I already upgraded to diamond axe. The problem isnt the time it takes to chop it down, its the time it takes to travel between the trees.
It would take 90% of your time just walking. Thats literally the most boring thing ever.
After being stuck at “level” 18 because I wasn’t able to find the zombie arm as requested by the NPC “Wizard”, I believe it is time to now give my opinion about the experience…
Firstly, the description and game thumbnails are fine (although being created within AI), however, when it comes to building your empire in a tycoon/simulator style, the experience goes off-topic. Needing to walk full circle on a mountain, knock on doors of all the houses, what are these quests in the first place? Are you trying to turn players into NPCs? I am not being sarcastic, and yes just confused as they are pretty generic and irrelevant to the core loop.
Secondly, bugs. You heard correctly, bugs! From what I have been reading on this topic, some people stated that the experience contains bugs that interfere within the gameplay, which is not good for both the players and the developer’s vision. No matter how low or critical they are, you need to take them seriously and fix them as soon as possible to maintain proper gameplay.
Overall, the project does not follow the theme as applied and it can affect the KPI. It would be proper to redesign everything, from the style to the flowchart of quests. Keep in mind that not only map design should be taken into consideration, but yes UI and UX! How players can communicate their experience with interfaces and if it is accessible.
Hope you can understand. Have a good day, mate!
Diamond rarity is decent, 7 units instead of 1, and I am pretty sure you still can upgrade your tools even more. I can speed up the process of chopping down wood and I also could add more trees overall to the map
And it keeps telling you even if you can’t buy anything new… maybe it should stop once you buy something?
overall its not a terrible game I got to about task 28 and then gave up because it became WAY too grindy
for the map its not terrible I think the map is pretty empty it would benefit from some height variation also the models are a little weird I would recommend removing the gradient on the house as it doesnt fit at all
you said you payed someone to make the models which I think is a waste and it would have just been better for you to spend a couple hours learning blender you probally couldve made something better than the models you paid for
the tasks are very simple and pretty boring also you dont really get much just some random props
honestly think the people that are having trouble with the fetch quests just arent trying hard enough I completed each of them within a minute and didnt experience any bugs in my playthrough
the part were you start collecting resources is way better (I think task 26 or something) gameplay than random tasks
if it didnt take 30 minutes to get to that point I think people would play way longer
in the game you said raids would be an update which I think would deffinetly make it more interesting but as I said I honestly think that removing the first 25 tasks or so would make it way better the task idea just doesnt work and I think you should just make the game like your average base building game
collect resources, build your base, fight fight enemies or other players you know whatI’m talking about
overall focus on more of a traditianol base building style of gameplay learn blender to improve the map such as adding height variation making it less empty keeping a consistent style add more stuff to do for the gameplay such as the raids you mentioned and I think pvp would also be interesting give the player more freedom instead of tasks maybe npc’s could give side quests but making quests the main gameplay is just overall boring
and lastly make it less grindy as it takes way to long just too upgrade 1 building
