Also, any advice related to CTR and play rate would be helpful as well! We advertized with a 0.01 bid to 13-17 males on mobile and tablet in non-EU regions, so that could be the issue as well.
The icons and thumbnails look good, but it needs to be catchy. Something that people would think it would be interesting. The more catchy, the more likely players can join.
I can’t find any examples for now. You can probably find the popular games going on right now and see its thumbnails. Maybe you can try and get ideas from them.
The Cardmental logo should be more alive in my opinion. Also, as @Controlguyman mentioned, try to inspire from popular games. Your thumbnails are a bit outdated.
By the logo, do you mean the icon or the actual logo text? Assuming you meant the icon, wouldn’t a simplier design take away from the fighting/strategy aspect of the game? Or am I misunderstanding what you mean?
I would agree with this, that’s why I was so confused when there was such a large discrepancy between the CTR ad the play rate (play rate is ~13x smaller). However, I’ll use your feedback to help solve this problem.
Would it help if the icon was a mini scene like thumbnail #3? Or did you mean something different?
I meant the logo text. As I told you before, try to make it simpler and more exciting!
Actually, to give an example, Item Asylum is pretty authentic, even though they drew inspiration from other games. They have a cool atmosphere and a well-designed, simple icon, which was one of the reasons I decided to play it. I was curious about it.
A mini scene would also work. Try to inspire from other games.
The icons and thumbnails are definitely high quality, so props to whoever made them!
I think what confuses me personally is what is this game about? The game’s title suggests it is a Card strategy game, but the thumbnails denote a more casual real time fighting game. I definitely enjoy both of these genres, but the thumbnails alone leave me confused on what the game is actually about.
Just my thoughts, not sure if the target audience would share the same opinion as me. Good luck!
It’s a real-time fighting game that HAS cards that you fight with. However, now I understand how it could be confusing. Do you know of a way for the title and the thumbnails could convey the same message? I suppose that there aren’t enough real-time fighting games with cards for players to be familiar with the design .
This is probably why there’s such a discrepancy between the CTR and the play rate, because tabletop game lovers likely click on the game but see that it’s a fighting game, or vice versa.
While I’m not a professional designer, I suggest maybe changing the logo to exemplify the fighting aspect of the game? Or maybe seeing the ads being posted can be a good indicator of the low CTR.
When it comes to play rate, I have little experience in that area so I don’t think I could be much help. Maybe add a youtube video trailer?
I’m having the same problem with my game! I’m glad I found out that I am not the only one. And thanks to you and other people, I can have some advice.
Off topic but slightly related:
There is a hacker/exploiter called “Gasere2131” or just “Gasere”. They use commands and backdoors to exploit your game. They target sponsored games. Games like yours. I know this because they did the same with my game. So, stay on the look-out for exploiters.
This is a pretty common problem then. Happy the replies here could be of some help! Good luck with whatever project you are working on. Also:
AFAIK, hackers cannot insert server-side scripts into the game, so the most they could do is flood remote events/functions, provide NaN values to the server, or possibly alter their humanoid’s properties to be able to run faster, etc. Furthermore, the game is intentionally built to minimize things such as extended attack range by having mostly ranged attacks with initial positions being checked by the server. So, I don’t think they’d be able to alter the game very much.
However, take this with a grain of salt because I’m not well-versed with anticheat
